    Iron Fist S2.

Decent. The martial arts were a bit better this time round, the show is a bit dry, but for some reason i like entire cast, especially Ward, Coleen and Joy. Sets it up for a third season, but i don't know if Disney are going to carry on with the TV Marvel stuff. Think they realised that the whole premise of the show/book is a bit silly, and they tried to explore other avenues, but all the talky stuff didn't feel as satisfying as the first season of the Punisher, and it looks like if there is a third season it is going to go down another avenue, and hence the show hasn't quite found its feet yet, even if there are flashes of promise.

    3/5

Ended up watching Schitt'$ Creek on Saturday night which is a Canadian sitcom about a rich family having to move to a small town (which they own) after losing all their money.
Lot better than I thought once it gets going and works due to the brilliant Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara. Not sure how it fairs after the first season but my other half binge watched it yesterday as she loved it.
I tried to get into this but gave up after 4 or 5 episodes. It's ok, has the odd laugh, but didn't grab me as much as I'd hoped.

    Stranger Things S3 8/10

Better than S2 and was good to see all the cast back together and the horror aspects were well done too (exploding rats were nasty)

It has more character moments and it continues to bring the 80s back to life in style so it's a nice trip down memory lane for me.

    Gomorrah - Seasons 1 & 2

Jeez, they like a bit of gold don't they!?

There's no anti-heroes in this show, they're just all straight-up horrible people doing relentlessly despicable things to each other.

Great series, but I feel like I need a shower after each viewing.

    Startup - Series 3

Startup is great, and I really hope they do another series. Very well written and acted and you really care about what's happening to the main characters.

    Stranger Things 3 - 3/10

Described it as mediocre in the ST thread, but now having watched the final two episodes, it's worse than that. It's just become hackneyed bullshit. where homages were once cherry picked for cool, now they are either forced/stolen wholesale or purely product placement. It's one very long advert ffs.

Same old recycling from the last two seasons. Fewer episodes, but more filler. characters have changed into comedy clowns. Just all a bit tired.

Won't bother with 4. The backlash has begun! Kill The duffer Brothers now.

    Killing Eve S1 + S2

Thrilling, hilarious, terrifying all at once. Waller-Bridge’s writing for the screen is flawless. Though I felt the latest series wasn't as strong as S1, it still impressed.
Jodie Comer’s Villanelle is the most enigmatic character performance since McConaughey’s Rust in True Detective.

    Stranger Things S03 EXCELLENT!

Gone is the sweetness and horror of S01 (sadly but inevitably) as well as the obvious "Oh shit, we're a massive hit let's crank out a sequel" of S02 (thankfully).

Confident, aware, indulgent and tight. This is as good as it could possibly get as long as they insist on keeping the same cast/baddies/town.

Like I said in the dedicated thread I always hoped for ST to turn into an anthology series with different towns and mysteries. They could all be linked to the Upside Down in the same way "all" Stephen King books are linked to that Gunslinger world.

Maybe S04 will give me what I wanted. I have full confidence in the Duffer Brothers. Loving how divisive this season is.

    A must see

I look forward to it. I'm halfway through S2. It builds brilliantly. Starts slowly, almost to the point that I'm losing interest, and then boom, it hooks you in

    Barry (S1)

An excellent recommendation from this very thread. It's funny, with a decent story driving it. The characters are varied and a joy to watch.

    10/10

Great period detail and amazing sense of creeping terror, left me with a thirst to find out more. Thanks to a previous poster who highlighted the podcast that accompanies the series which is an amazing companion to the show.

    The Alienist

This features a hunt for a serial killer just as forensic and psychological techniques were coming to be at the end of the 19th century. There's a nice blend of characters, and they develop nicely through the course of the investigation. It gets a little heavy handed at times, especially with the politics, but I did enjoy how they kept the killer concealed through most of the show. Overall a decent watch.

    7/10

Killing Eve s2. 6.5/10. Much the same as the first, but the script lacked the same sharpness I thought. There were also some really questionable plot devices or decisions by characters that didn't make such sense to me. But it was a light, entertaining enough watch and Jodie Cromer was ace again.

    Special - 6/10

Netflix show about a gay guy with cerebral palsy. Really sweet comedy-drama, and the main character is adorable, but it's all a bit twee and predictable. Episodes are only 15mins long, so kinda feels like it's nowhere near substantial enough to fully explore its potential, and only really starts to get interesting towards the final couple of episodes. The inevitable second season should flesh things out a bit more.

    Gameface S1

Conceptually nothing groundbreaking but so funny.

The pilot having a more recognisable cast than the series is a little jarring but the writing is so much fun.

    Justified Season 5 8/10

Watched Seasons 1-4 some time ago on Netflix and then it just disappeared which was disappointing as I rather like the show. Now that it's turned up on Prime can finally see through to conclusion.

The main strengths of the show has always been the 2 lead characters (Raylan and Boyd) and the writing.

It does have the weird American TV vibe of being quite violent at times but features PG level swearing and no sex or nudity.

Anyway the show maintains the quality of previous seasons and moves along at a good pace. When you feel one episode isn't enough in an evening I know it's a good show.

    Already started Season 6.
