Bra-fucking-vo!
It may not be as good as the comics (I've never read them) and it may have some minor flaws, but on the whole, I thoroughly enjoyed it. -

Incredible Vice series on All4 about the grim and most extraordinary stories from professional wrestling. Production values aren't always on point but the stories are like nothing else.
The first episode about the murder of Bruiser Brody is a story I already knew but it never gets any less shocking or unbelievable and is an absolute must watch.

So fucking good. Each episode had a least one ‘OOF FUCK’ moment. The overall quality left nothing to be desired. I also thought that the FX work was incredible.
Can’t wait for Season 2. -

Just finished series 1 of Fleabag, very much enjoyed it, funny with just enough awkward and sad. On to series 2! -

Registered 16 years agoI do not get the love for Derry Girls, at all.
I didn't find it funny, thought the gags were repeated too often, and the main girl's 'act' seemed to be to channel Mr Ed as much as possible.
It was vaguely amusing at times throughout season 1, which I've just watched, but nothing more. Not unwatchable, but I can't understand the gushing and 10/10 scores. -

Really enjoyed it some very out there moments and a great cast make it very addictive watch.
I felt terrible for laughing at the dolphin rescue scene.

First series was nigh on perfection for me, so this was a disappointment on the whole. Some good moments but it meandered through a lot of the episodes where not a lot seemed to really happen. Think it suffered from the transition from the first series. Eve went from chasing Villanelle down into falling in love with her and whilst there were hints at their unusual relationship, it still ended up being quite rushed. Final episode was good though. Presumably it's Eve's turn to end up in hospital and have to recover at the start of the next series.... -

Really enjoyed the re-watch, its rare for a series to be this strong from s1
Stranger Things season 2 re-watch 7/10
Its not as fun to watch, skipped the EL meets her "sister" the first time was bad enough. There is good bits but the season arc felt messy - mike and will got more annoying, which is nothing compared to s3 -

There's something really self-indulgent and smug about this series and it's Ricky Gervais. The man has always struck me as an insecure, egotistical, mean-spirited, misanthropic cunt, and this series confirms it, especially whenever he makes an attempt at sentimentality. The mawkish montages towards the end of the season fall completely flat IMO. Sometimes it's like watching a sociopath attempt to mimic empathy.
I liked it despite all that. There are some excellent actors involved, some scenes are laugh-out-loud funny, and it's generally an enjoyable watch.
Still, it's all a bit masturbatory and Gervais comes off like a twat.

This wasn't even on my radar until the chatter here and on FB about it, but the recommendations were worth listening to as it's an excellent watch. Probably one of the better takes on the super hero genre. It can get very dark in places with some serious WTF moments. I'm definitely looking forward to another series.

Managed to get through this in three days, which isn't something I do often. So generally I found it thoroughly enjoyable but with a couple of caveats...
First, Karl Urban's "English" accent is unbelievably, and inexcusably bad. The inflection is all wrong. In fact I thought he was Australian right up to the point he started wittering on about the Spice Girls. And Simon Pegg is right there! He's buff now, he could easily have played the Billy Butcher role! So that's a constant distraction from start to finish.
Also I'm not a fan of having things obviously foreshadowed and then not having any follow up by season's end. What the hell was up with that fly? It must mean something because they didn't exactly make it discrete, but without any closure it just looks like a Mac n' Me style error. Irritating if nothing else.
Otherwise, good social commentary, quite original, frequently funny, deliciously brutal. Recommended. -

At last! Somebody feels the same a out Gervais. I really can't bloody stand him. Agree with everything you've said but I'll add talentless and painfully unfunny as well. He seems pretty much universally liked tho. At least that's my impression.

His recent stand up on Netflix was very good and I am usually pretty lukewarm about Gervais. -

Quite amusing. The granddad and the sister were probably my favourite characters.
