    @simpleexplodingmaybe

Fleabag did the same. And obviously the UK office is a good example.

Only recently found out this country is doing more so hopefully keeps up the great standard its set.

@Rum_Monkey in terms of not knowing when to stop Iíd say the way Peaky Blinders jumped through shark then lost all direction is the biggest current example. Thereís been multiple natural conclusions but the ratings have been up so itís being dragged onwards

Line of duty is the same.

I'd say it effects comedies more though, nothing more gutting than a comedy you love going to shit.

    La Mante (The Mantis)

A French murder mystery with one fucked up family. I did like the mum, but the girlfriend was a tad idiotic. It did go a bit panto villian towards th eend, but on the whole a damn fine watch.

    8/10

    Man in the high castle

The premise fascinated me, but season 2 drained all my enthusiasm. I couldn't stand any of the lead characters and the story didn't seem to go anywhere... just seemed so aimless.

Still, after hearing season 4 was the last, I thought I'd finish it off, so so glad I did. Seasons 3 & 4 totally course correct and embrace the more interesting parts of the show.

I kind of get the feeling season 3 righted all the wrongs and set the pieces for the show to go off into all kinds of interesting places, only for the show to be effectively cancelled and season 4 be written to wrap it all up.. which IMO it does to a relatively satisfying degree.

    S1 - 8
    S2 - 5
    S3 - 9
    S4 - 9

Ditto - i loved it but the main characters drove me bonkers - will give 3 and 4 a go now then.

On another note finally got round to watching taboo... all round excellent, nearly perfect 9/10

    Fleabag season 2

Feel like I've just been broken up with.

Even better than the fantastic first season.

    Yeah, I finished Fleabag recently.
    Loved it.
My only complaint is that Mrs Alastair jumped in and watched it before me, so I had to watch it on my own.

Sex Education S2. 7/10. Tremendous until the last 2 episodes but didn't really like the direction it went in. I'd have preferred it to have been wrapped up in this season, not sure it's got the legs for a 3rd. Still overall very good though, and still looks amazing.

The Good Place S4. 8.5/10. I always know I've enjoyed a series when I am sad it ends. The last few episodes are excellent, really nicely handled and posed some interesting questions. It had its ups and downs but overall it was quality and the pay off was well worth it.
Wait...is that the end? I thought there was a Season 5!

    Sex Education S2 - 8/10

It's very good. Not quite as good as the first, but had plenty of great moments. Introduced a lot of new characters who were very good. But a few of the characters from the first series got slightly underbaked storylines this time out. Enjoyed the ludicrous play in the final episode :D

Subtitle of the season could have been Adam's Journey.

The one with brody as the mob boss was good.

    The latest season was awful.

    Nobel

Quite a tight political thriller about a Norwegian special forces operative serving and returning from Afghanistan. The understated Scandinavian style works well, although some aspects are a little too convenient. However the conspiracy is suitably intriguing and well portrayed.

I started out hating Fleabag (the character) and ended up loving her and craving more of the false but intoxicating intimacy she offered us as her confidants.

I just wish we could put Fleabag and Fiona Shaw together in a room and just make that a miniseries.

Their one scene together was electric and I want more

It's weird, I think John Hamm is both dreamy and brilliant in Mad Men, but I've not really been impressed by much else he's been in. Definitely one of those whose previous role defines him, in my eyes anyway.

So many great scenes and touches in S2 of Fleabag. The way the Hot Priest notices the 4th wall breaking was genius.

    The Sinner S! - 8.5/10

Fucking brutal as fuck but cathartic. Well scripted, plotted and superbly acted this show needs more trigger warnings for those who've suffered abuse.

Reminded me of The Killing but I'd say this is superior. Person whop turned me on to the show says S2 is even better, thus further differentiating it from The Killing.

Good police psychological thriller with strong Twin Peaks undertones but you really do need to be able to handle it.

    Giri / Haji

First 4 episodes were great then it went to shit, script became soap opera-ish with ridiculous coincidences again and again then they tried to add a few pretentious touches which didn't work at all with such an unconvincing storyline, almost all the characters were fucking idiots as well, so much potential but ultimately disappointing.
Solid cast of good actors as well.
It seems to be well-rated critically but I don't understand why, it's hugely flawed.

I need to try it again, I watched 3 episodes and hated her, really didn't get it...
