No sniping with Gaige, as it's impossible to hit anything with high anarchy without a lot of bullets / pellets. Diving right in is ever so much fun anyway. Love her melee ability too.

My Zer0 is sniper focussed - but I've maxxed out Critical hit damage, which means that an SMG/shotgun to the head at close range still takes most stuff down pretty quickly.

I certainly prefer Zer0's play style to Axton, although am not too much of a fan of Deception...

I've played a bit more of this... The movement feels really slow. I'm used to playing halo and it feels totally sluggish in comparison. Is there any way to speed up your characters?

There are some skills that increase running speed in certain situations. Gunzerker has a couple.

Most of the time, though, you're stuck with the one you start with. Not that it's ever been that slow for me.

I'd rather have actual Sniper since we already have an awesome Melee character
    Surely Zer0 is a sniper.....? That's how I've spec'd mine, and he's awesome.
Maya is a much much more deadly sniper than Zero. Zero's sniping tree is a pants.

Gaige can actually be a great sniper if you invest a point or two into blood-soaked shields and use a shield with a lot of amp damage. The amp drain is negated by BSS, so you can keep amp shots up as long as you kill things quickly.

I might have to go down the melee route with zero then. Get in close, snipe from far, if they get too close, shotguns and swords.

Death blossom is the way to go with Zero.

Many must fall can be fun a lot of fun but requires Specialised gear to be worth using.

Borderlands has never been a good game for sniping. Sniper rifles were bad in the first game (you could never get 100% accuracy), and they're far better in this one at least. But the gameplay doesn't lend itself to sniping, it's too fast paced, with many enemies preferring to rush the player. It's not a snipers game, personally I think it's to their credit that they've made sniping viable at all.
    Huh? Crazy talk.

The only shooter this gen that feels more satisfying and fun to snipe in is Gears. Every chara I've started has had a sniper rifle permanently set to a quick select button.

Sooo apparently there was a bug in the fotfix that causes the game to temporarily rain legendaries.

Found my first lot of bazookas last night, great fun!

Also only just realised that I had a load of badass tokens to spend... They're only marginal increases but I guess they make a difference!?

Enter the code for costumes, an SMG and better shields all weekend.

@Ged42 I got a good slag gun with the annoying habit of keeping me permanently slagged...!

I think that's the present for everyone. And iirc that gun does slag and lightning damage at once, so it's great if you can nerf the self-slagging somehow.

I'd rather they just concentrate on the sequel now, or at least more DLC questlines than a new character tbh.

Unless they release it in tandem with a proper expansion sized chunk of DLC, then I'm not sure I can be arsed to play through the same content again for the umpteenth time. Even if he/she is dramatically different. 5 charas plus NG+ for each is already exhausting enough as it is. They surely can't expect us to still be happy grinding through the same old stuff again?

@SomaticSense - Agreed. Final chunk of DLC + raising the lvl cap and then move on to making BL3 on 'next-gen' consoles.

Ok I changed my mind about that free gun, it's pretty good.
The combination of slag and electric works well on most enemies, and the lingering damage makes it great for spraying an area with lots of enemies.

Also. I don't know if this is a luck of the Irish thing. But in 100 hours so far I have found no more than 2 or 3 orange items. Since using that gun (today for a couple of hours) I have found three.

@jambii267 At level 42, got a machine gun with high fire chance (dropped by spider) a shield with multiple novas (award at end of optional mission) and an epic class mod with 5 different skills, reload and fire rate boosts (award at end of optional mission)

All on the latter stages firehawk mission.
