How do I get rid of excess materials? I've got loads and loads of sand, a chest full of the stuff, I don't what to do with it? Can I sell it once I get a merchant?

Razz - sell it to a merchant, although most mats won't give any/much money. Just 'throw' it away and don't pick it up or dump it in some lava. Reminds me, I need to buld a lava refuse pit.

Laid the smackdown on Eye last night. Very pleased though a very tough fight - especially as it was a blood moon. Some nice loot though and can start exploring corruption although my greed had unfortunate consequences...

I started playing this, and after a few hours all I wanted to do was play Minecraft and build houses. I appreciate they're (more or less) doing different things, but I think it's a bit too rough around the edges in the actual building element to draw me in.

Yup. It runs ok for me in Parallels, but I really need to bootcamp it to get the best experience.
I'll let you guys know if I find a good way of playing it on a mac, but it seems that it needs both XNA and .NET which are both really hard to emulate or install in wine etc.

Other than that, this game is great man! I love it.
A EG server would be awesome, I'd be down for some Skeletron team-pwning.

I got attacked by the Goblin army last night, minutes after the Eye of Cthulhu had spawned on me. That was pretty interesting!

Found a magic mirror just now! It's all kinds of awesome, I can use it to teleport back to my bed where my nurse awaits, wish I had one of these in RL lol

Go myself a full set of Shadowscale and a Blade of Grass. Gonna give the skeleton/dungeon a go.

Found a handy app that can make a copy of your map to look at in .png format;

Woah, you've got some serious hardware there man! I've just got a full set of Shadowscale armour too, using a lights bane and enchanted boomerang. Got loads of other weapons I dont use though, a musket, ball of hurt, loads of Jester's arrows etc.... I have to admit, I cheated a little bit on getting the armour... I started another world and summoned the Eye of Chutulu to get more ore.

My map!

I'd be interested in seeing what others are playing on. You can see me little village too, I love that tool lol. That wall above my village is defence wall I'm constructing for blood moon, from now on there will only be one entrance to my entire village that'll be blocked most of the time (I put a block next to the door so it wont open) The entire area will have stone walls in the background so the little shits can't spawn inside.

I got most of my armour from killing the big worms that spawn after you smash shadow orbs in the corruption (I think that's what they're called).

Skeletron kicked my arse so I'm off to mine some hellstone ore in hell!

Heh, my first couple of days where like that until I realised that I was playing on a large map. Which is a stupid idea for a single player, changed to small map and it's still feckign huge but doable.
