I tunneled straight all the way down to Hell. It takes a good minute or so to fall down! Good thing I got some rocket shoes from the goblin invasion ![]() |

I'm on a small. Just discovered a submerged mushroom forest.
It's very moreish.
'I'll just diver this water then explore down oh mine some ore and then go home make new stuff then ohhhhh i can use that off I go down another shaft...' -

Registered 16 years agoLOL +1 Sometimes I just dig in random directions rather than follow the shafts, I spent 3 hours redirecting an underground ocean to a massive Lava flow to farm obsidian. I still had loads of water left so I'm currently bringing it down to hell. = -
I intend to put this water I found to the same use.
I need a bed, how do I make it? I have silk and wood and stuff... :/ -
...ignore me :s -

I got most of my armour from killing the big worms that spawn after you smash shadow orbs in the corruption (I think that's what they're called).
Skeletron kicked my arse so I'm off to mine some hellstone ore in hell!
That'd be a boss then, Eater of Worlds -
Just drained like a lake the size of Baikal. It's taken 5 minutes to go so far, still rushing out oooo!

Registered 16 years agoLOL! I done something similar to that by mistake on my first map, hours of digging laid to waste by a pick axe in the wrong place lol
-
I meant to drain this one. It's still massive, I'm trying to drain the other section now.
I want to link my two main digs together before I go any deeper. Dunno why. -

Are you sure you're not trying to drain the sea there Sparrows? :-D -

Registered 13 years agoI love how vegetation grows in tunnels and can block out light. Going back to one of my old mines and having to chop through vines and such -
No, definitely not the sea. But that's now next on my list!

Registered 13 years agoI got fed up of navigating a maze of tunnels down to the stone layer (large map) so dug a massive elevator pit to the surface. It's useful, and sometimes when I'm hanging off the wall doing a bit of mining slimes and skeletons go plummeting past. -

Registered 13 years agoI've made an express elevator to hell, walled off for none of that monster spawning annoyance.
The jump from Gold to Demonite is a bit of a leap, thinking going past it to Hellstone will be easier. -

Registered 15 years agoHow the hell do you survive in, er, Hell? As soon as I breach the layer I'm set upon by 2-3 imps and at least one giant skeleton snake bastard. It's all I can do to gather a few hellstone if I'm lucky before I'm utterly overwhelmed. -

Registered 9 years agoI managed quite well down there. I had the meteor armor and the rocket boots, mind. So in the open areas it's pretty easy to avoid them.
Also the meteorite hamaxe does wonders on them. And if you're at the right angle, their shots get deflected by the pick. At least the nightmare pick did for me.
Now I have full molten armor and a molten pick.
Still haven't fully explored the underground jungle or even tried beating Skeletron. -

Registered 15 years agoWow, this has almost continually been the top seller on Steam since release! The Witcher 2 is listed twice everywhere though so I suspect the sales of those instances should be combined, which probably tops it.
But still o_O -

Interesting - I just mined my first meteorite, so maybe the axe is what I ought to build. Cheers!

I really need more armour and things. I'm getting obsidian now, to find it's crap (until Hellstone?) and I need more ores but not finding many. -

Registered 8 years agoWoo finally killed Skeletron boss after mining hellstone and getting full suit of flashy armour.
I found the easiest way to farm it was to flood a section of hell and dig down. The imps seem to spawn less in tight tunnels away from the big open spaces.
Still haven't seen a goblin invasion. Are they a triggered thing?
Quite looking forward to seeing what they add over the next few weeks! -
Where is hell? Beneath the lava? -

Registered 15 years agoYeah. It's more or less dirt > rock > lava > Hell. You'll know it when you hit it. -

Registered 16 years agoYeah, it#s when the background is dark rock with strains of lava in the background, if you're playing on anything other than a small map don't expect to get here any time soon lol.
@Poontash, the Goblin army is triggered when you have 200+ Life and have destroyed at least one shadow orb, http://terraria.wikia.com/wiki/Goblin_Army -

No tutorial. I seem to be coping OK now. Made a nice little underground house to keep all the nasties out. -

Why can't I make a workbench!? Every time I place one in the world, I pick it back up whenever I walk anywhere near it instead of being able to use what. HALP!
