Rewatching a few episodes in preparation for the new series.

Hated in the Nation is great. The social media lynch mob aspect of that was relevant when it came out, but feels even more on point now

Years and Years is class and Black Mirror fans should totally watch it

RTD isn't sparing us his political fears and it's a very plausible near future
I've paid partial attention to the trailer for this a few times when watching BBC and it vaguely seemed like something I might like, without prompting me to rush and check it out. I shall be checking it out now

The trailer appears to be for a slightly different much more boring programme than the first episode delivered

I imagine lots of knuckledraggers will be angry at its politics

I quite liked it, but thought it was trying a bit too hard to throw in every single hot topic in current affairs today. Like it was trying to get the viewer to go "ooh yeah that's an issue" every five minutes.

Yeah, it's not too subtle. Still quite interesting though.

That's RTD in a nutshell though. Completely incapable of subtly, whilst truly believing he is the master of it at the same time.

Russell Tovey's character does appear to have a direct line into stating all of RTD's opinions at times but I thought it worked in a worlds all gone to hell drama

Watched the first episode of Years and Years last night following those recommendations. I'd forgotten how truly terrible RTD's writing is. Awful.

Mrs Maybe is watching while I'm getting ready for work

So far all I've seen is some excellent use of Nine Inch Nails

It's a challenge to see how many uninteresting ways to tell the same "phones are bad" story he's been trying to tell for the past 5 years

I have seen the first two. Both had a fair amount of swearing.some sex/nude scenes in first, you don't see any bits and (knobs) bobs though.

    The second has guns...

My daughter is 13 and I don't think they are appropriate.
    Hope that helps.

Probably need to watch the first yourself to decide, it tackles some awkward relationship issues. Not sure a kid would be interested in the storyline tbh.

    Watched first two episodes.

First was weird but interesting enough, second more sad and also very topical if nothing completely new.

Not the best episodes ever but still very entertaining. Looking forward to the final one tomorrow.

I thought the second was brilliant, definitely not one for your kid though youthist.

First one was decent and interesting.

First is great - will never look at Kuma in the same way again. Loved the realistic depiction of gaming, the PS4/switch hybrid also made me smile.

Second - liked it but feel I am trained to expect a big twist right at the end, but we had already had that, liked the story tho and message about big corps knowing more than authorities

Third - didn't like it, felt like a different show, comedy kids movie tone in some ways. Cheap TV kids show with a car chase to beat the big bad. Cyrus was probably the best person in it, and I wasn't expecting that was it meant to be a n out and out parody and I missed it?

First episode was dull in my opinion except for the VR fighting bits but then it turned into a weirdo gay but not really gay affair thing with an ultimately underwhelming ending. Felt at times like I was watching a soap opera. Not entertaining at all.

Second episode was mostly good but the expected twist ending never came... I was thinking that there would a link between the suicide of that woman’s daughter and the main story but there wasn’t as it just ended before you found out anything. The episode just sort of went off the boil. Disappointing really given how tense and well-acted the rest of the episode was.

The last episode was the best one in my view... it started off as something that was going to be a bit dark, like Arkangel from a previous season, but then half way through the tone shifted and it became lighter and more humorous, which was odd but also oddly brilliant at the same time. Really enjoyed this one even if ended up not feeling like an episode of Black Mirror at all.

A mixed bag then, definitely the weakest season of Black Mirror for me since Season 1. The twist endings, which is what I love about the series, are completely missing here and there is a sense that the series is running out of steam.

Thought the third one was the worst. I was enjoying it enough, but it became like a Saturday morning kids show. The car whole mouse car, car chase escapade ruined it for me.

Second was best, well acted and actually had me reflecting upon the end. It lacked a twist that would have had it up there with the better black mirror episodes.

I enjoyed the first one a lot. I love the episodes that have really far off tech as they get me thinking about the implications of such tech. The one where you could replay everything back that you had seen is the prime example!

The second one did have a twist ending his girlfriends death was his fault as he was using social media whilst driving

Watched the third one now, and agree it was the weakest of the three in my opinion. Tone was a bit too slapstick for my taste and didn't really feel like Black Mirror from the halfway mark.

Favourite one was the second, which had several different issues to ponder on.

First one was competent with good acting as well.
