Apple today announced that Steve Jobs will indeed host the keynote for the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) next Monday in San Francisco. Aside from the expected focus on iOS 5 and Mac OS X Lion,

Apple's announcement also confirms that Jobs will introduce the company's "iCloud" service.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs and a team of Apple executives will kick off the company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. At the keynote, Apple will unveil its next generation software - Lion, the eighth major release of Mac OS X; iOS 5, the next version of Apples advanced mobile operating system which powers the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch; and iCloud, Apple's upcoming cloud services offering.

Apple last month was reported to have purchased the iCloud.com domain name, with additional reports claiming that Apple has indeed been referring to its streaming service by that name. Apple has been said to be close to wrapping up negotiations with major music labels and publishers to allow users to stream their owned music from Apple's cloud-based servers to any of a number of Internet-connected devices.

    From Mac Rumors

    ---------------------------------------

Rolling Jobs out for the last time maybe? each time he does these things he looks worse and worse.

Only thing I am interested in is knowing whether iOS 5 will make iPhone 5 potentially better than the best Android or W7 phones by the time my contract expires.

It also seems that this WWDC from Apple will clash with Microsoft's E3 conference which starts 30 mins earlier!

    Sneaky Apple.

All I want from the iPhone is the ability to put my calendar on the main page in place of icons, i.e. a complete UI overhaul. And a bigger screen. Was seriously leaning towards buying a Galaxy S2 last week as the screen is gorgeous (and big!) and I like the whole widget thing they have going on. But then I checked out the app store... Interested in seeing how they go about the iCloud, and I want them to acknowledge that mobileme is a pile of bollocks and they plan to do something decent with it.

Aye, very little interest in this at all really, unless they do something really cool with the ipad OS, but unlikely.

We wont see a big change for the UI in this one i don't think, but it clearly needs it.

I guess we will find out on Monday!

It's today isn't it? Anyone know what time it'll start GMT?

The only thing that is definite is that whatever they announce, we get to spend the net 8 months listening to/reading the hilarious comments about how Apple are claiming to have invented it (whatever it is) and how this is bullshit. When they don't actually say that.

Yep. Of course all of this has existed somewhere before (especially auto-saving and versioning) but Apple look to have polished the experience, making them all far more usable in the process. Lion is looking really interesting so far!

Edit: was replying to crispy. ;-)

29 USD is a really good price, as is them allowing it to be installed on multiple macs.

Do they? I thought the whole point of 'family packs' was they didn't really permit multiple installs, but since they don't use DRM (hooray!) they weren't easily able to enforce it? Whereas with a forced download from the App Store, they could?
