So he said, but that's up for debate as Tyrion would never bet against Jaime, which is how he supposedly won it.

And they separately worked out it was Joffrey that got the catspaw to assassinate Bran with it.

    This is the book thread.

And there's an in for all these dropped plots now with Bran's time travel bollocks.

Well he did use it to start the war by telling his tale about losing it to Tyrion.

But yeah, I don't buy LFs tale of it at all. The chapter where Jaime and Tyrion puzzle out that Joffrey ordered it is written from Tyrion's perspective. I think LF's story is partially true, but Tyrion's theory that he lost it to Robert and Joffrey took it from his possessions makes sense.

I don't think Tyrion could possibly have had the dagger in his posession at any point, unless he was consciously not thinking of that in every chapter of his.

Yeah, that's a fair point, but without anything on the show to suggest he's lying it doesn't really stand up.

It would be a bit disappointing if the show tried to build up all this mystery of who tried to kill Bran, only to say "Oh yeah, whoops, it was Joffrey". That would be a bit of an anticlimax at this point.

I guess maybe they'll do something else with it? I don't know why it's being introduced again now.

I've read the books but fallen behind on the TV series, finally catching up on S5 and S6.

Wow, they really butchered the whole Dorne/Doran Martell thing, though I know it wasn't really that exciting to begin with. Selmy didn't really get much of a send-off either

I think it's being reintroduced to remind everyone how badly he fucked the Starks over in general, maybe to facilitate his being forced to run from the north soon at the least.

They should have just kept Selmy to die in the attack in the pits or you know kept him alive like the books.
Actor was pissed when he found out.

Given Arya's propensity for fighting it seems happily setup for a dramatic moment where she's cornered by a Wight/Walker at some point, and is possibly unaware that Valyrian Steel will kill it and you get a Jon vs White Walker moment or something.

@Baihu1983 They could have at least made him go out like a fucking beast or something. Dude wasn't supposed to be lying when he said he could easily kill the rest of the kingsguard single handedly.

Well if Baihu can post stuff from the leaked scripts from freefolk in the main thread as a "guess" why the fuck not?

    Yeah I saw that too.

He wants to rake in those "I told you so" brownie points despite the fact he's just reading it verbatim for the most part.

He's done it at least twice that I've seen. I tried to head it off with an alternate, non plucked straight from the script theory but yeah.

I would never have used the leaked scripts to make "predictions" because, when I read them, I thought I was reading some sort of awful, Naruto-inspired fanfic...

I'm glad I don't remember what the "predictions" were. Watching episodes slightly early is one thing, but reading an entire season beforehand is something else.

Seen him do that when the books and show were still fairly in sync too. As if people will praise you for disguising a spoiler.

I don't know why that would be a shock, he's been doing it since season 1, first from the books, now from the leaked scripts.
