It would be nice to know what, if any, his original plan for the end of the saga was.

Ror... we spoke about this, he said he WOULD NOT include a 1,000 year old dragon in the body of a pre teen.

Anyway couldnít give too fucks, unless he comes out and says the show massively changed his vision for the end of the books, I donít think I want to read 10,000 pages of people walking for that conclusion, it would be a bit of a let down.

I reckon the series will be finished by Christopher Tolkien after Martinís death.

I increasingly suspect that book 6 was finished ages ago and that he is just trolling everyone. My brother has a theory that he is hugely bitter because he didnít get fame and fortune until he was old and fat, and missed out on the cocaine & hookers.

What is certainly true is that I read 1-5 so long ago that if 6 appears I will have to start again.

I reckon just reading book 5 part 2 would be enough to bring you up to speed.

I genuinely don't remember how the last book ended.
Was it with Jon Snow being "killed"? by the Nights watch?

I think you are both technically right. Jon was the end of the last chapter and Kevan the end of the epilogue.

A small update on the book that might one day get released.... might

If nothing else, the enforced isolation has helped me write. I am spending long hours every day on THE WINDS OF WINTER, and making steady progress. I finished a new chapter yesterday, another one three days ago, another one the previous week. But no, this does not mean that the book will be finished tomorrow or published next week. Itís going to be a huge book, and I still have a long way to go. Please do not give any credence to any of the click-bait websites that like to parse every word of my posts as if they were papal encyclicals to divine hidden meanings.

    It's coming.

He's finished 3 chapters in a fortnight. It must be about 400 chapters by now.
