So, no thread for this right now but it was pushed back from May to July this year, I am expecting to hear more at E3 and hopefully confirmation of this coming out on PC next month. The first was a great little dungeon crawler but lacked depth and of course MP, the sequel adds more customization, MP, Guilds (from what I heard at PAX) and a bunch of other things, sort of D2 to D1 if you will. Hopefully someone hears something at E3 and it isn't lost in the noise. |

Registered 19 years agoHad a good read over on the Runic site about Torchlight 2 - looks great, but for 360 users, really, Who Cares? -

Registered 17 years agoI have a feeling it won't be July now, although I heard they may announce a date tomorrow. -
I'm just hoping it'll still run on my PC, otherwise I'm left in limbo hoping for an XBLA announcement. -

Registered 19 years agoI noticed on Runic's twitter that they were at E3 - glad somebody has finally gone to see the game, and put something on the internet about it.
LAN play, eh? With 'up to six players, but it'll probably just be an ini file setting'. -

See how the Berserker uses her fists to explode monsters into bloody chunks! -
Steam pre-orders now available!
£14.99 for one, £44.99 for a four-pack. And each pre-order comes with a giftable copy of the original game.
-
:-D -
Tempted to just buy it now. Ought to wait and see if anyone's looking for people to pad out a four-pack, though.
-
If you want a collaborator for a 4-pack I'm in, for sure -
I am up for the 4 pack also.
Edit: I might know a couple Intreasted also. Will update peeps tonight whether I will need a copy or 2.

Looks like we could get several four-packs going, then! Cool. -

I'll preorder as soon as there is a release date - I am not sure how strict Steam controls how far a game is before they put it up, but I am a bit wary right now. -
Runic are running a stress test on the beta this weekend. If you sign up for a Runic account then there's a chance you might get in, even if you missed the first batch of beta sign-ups.

Registered 13 years agoI've got got a beta key but I'm not going to be able to use it. I think the stress test is until Tuesday. Does anyone want it? -

Registered 11 years agoGot my beta code, but the game won't recognise my log-in details. I can boot up the beta and create a character, but when I actually try to play the game I get a 'invalid username/password' message. The vids popping up on Youtoob look great, too. So fudging frustrating! -
Can you log in to your Runic Games account via the web site? The login details should be the same for both.
Had a great time playing this over the weekend, must've put in around three hours in total. Then I made myself stop - don't want to ruin too much before it's out, as they've said that any progress made in the beta 'probably' won't carry over into the main game.
Hopefully we'll get a release date soon, now. It already felt remarkably polished and stable (and was far, FAR happier on my old laptop than the Diablo 3 beta was), so fingers crossed they're in the final stretch. -
It really is quite nice, and there's an extra layer of sheen and polish on the graphics that just doesn't come across in screenshots, and the animations of the pets are fantastic.
One thing though: the character moves insanely fast - I am so used to this genre that I usually don't misclick, but you run so fast that it can get hard to click on an enemy or loot as you're just breezing past!.gif)
Good to hear it runs well on your Laptop - I am suprised though that it runs better than Diablo 3, which has a better framerate on my Laptop than Torchlight 1! Couldn't try TL2 on it as I don't think there's a Mac beta.

It's pretty weird, to be honest. Torchlight 2 runs lovely even with everything cranked up to max (aside from the AA, which I had switched off), but Diablo chugs like a bugger unless I drop the screen resolution.
I still think it might be a bug in Diablo, tbh. I've been gifted a guest pass for it so I might give it another go in a couple of weeks once they've elbowed a few patches in. -
Personally I'm having more fun with the Torchlight beta than I did with the Diablo beta. The flow of the game just feels better. Combat is also better than the previous Torchlight. But I'm having the same problem as UncleLou about the movement, I just keep misclicking.
