Apple dominates the tablet computer market in the year of 2010; In 2011, a huge number of tablet computers have been introduced and given a general threat to Apple's leading status, Apple is thinking to give an aggressive counteroffensive.

Apple, in order to maintain a leading position, plans to launch iPad 3 in the fourth quarter by shortening the iPad Product life cycle. And also, try to push the screen resolution of iPad 3 to 2560x1920 , which is the ultimate resolution a 9.7 Inch Panel can achieve and doubles "Full HD".

Economic Daily Times has been a spotty source of Apple rumors, so we don't have much confidence in this report, but felt it an interesting discussion piece given the previous "iPad 3 in 2011" rumors.

Had 4 Apple iPad 2's all with dead pixels and bad light bleed (its very common with the new iPad's most of them have it) got a refund and will wait for the next version now.

It all depends how picky you are tbh some wont give a shit but i wasn't paying Ł600+ for that each one was worse than the one before it.

The retina update would be more than welcome, but 6x the resolution is pretty absurd imo.

Wasn't there a rumour that the next iPhone will arriving a lot earlier than usual? Well, it's been a year since the iPhone 4 was released, and there's still no new iPhone announcement, and most likely won't be until September at the earliest.

So yeah, this rumour's most likely a load of crap. iPad 3 will probably arrive around March/April next year, or possibly later. And that resolution is just silly for a tablet.

If they do release this year, it wont be the iPad 3. It will be the iPad 2 with optional resolution upgrade.

The important difference is things the phone cant do and things apple dont want it to do.

They dont want to introduce key features to old models because it would stop people upgrading.

The important thing to remember, and this is really vital, is that above everything else, Apple are cunts.

Every product release, every bit of news you read and everything that is leaked must be tempered with this fact.

Once you realise that apple are cunts everything suddenly makes a lot more sense. Plus we dont have to keep flapping our gums about the same things over and over again.

Not at all. Much more likely to go with a resolution that is easily scalable for existing hardware (i.e. iPhone 4) resolutions. Both of the resolutions 1536x2048 and 2560x1920 have this possibility.

Interesting. I'd always said, if they 'Retina'd' the iPad I'd have one.

Take your point - but I'm still absurdly happy with my iPad 1; just because there's a thinner/faster version, it still does what I want it to do...........and will prob. be fine for another couple of years.
