It's worth mentioning that artists are inherently mad. So while I'm not completely surprised, it is a damn shame.

Also burning them? come on, that's just godwinning yourself.

It's not like the guy took the money, made the books and then burned them all.

Campbell said he successfully mailed 750 to 800 books, while another 150 were undeliverable and returned to him due to old addresses. He plans to burn the rest of the books that have been sitting in his apartment in boxes for over a year.

Two weeks ago, the stress of not being able to afford to mail the books prompted Campbell to burn 127 books behind a dumpster in an alley behind his apartment.

Campbell said burning the books was "like a weight lifted off of me."

One comic industry website has declared his campaign a "Kickstarter Fail."

Reactions from people who gave money to Campbell ranged from frustration to sympathy.

While some readers were disappointed in Campbell's failure to deliver on his promises, others were concerned about his mental health based on a rambling 4,500-word update that accompanies the video showing him burning the books.

Campbell said has refunded some money but he can't fund additional refunds to what he estimates to be 25 percent of his backers.

Campbell said that for those still wanting a book, he could sell more of his personal belongings to help pay for shipping. Or he could ask people for money for shipping, an option which he says he "refuses to do."
Still ... you got money to make a book. Get the book to the people that paid you for it you fucker.

If I still lived in London I would have one of these in an instant. But I live in the hills and many of it's features are redundant.

Really not sure whether this is a joke....

I'll gaffer tape a cricket ball to a tea tray and try it out.

I'm assuming that, with the whole "stop sitting and stand at your desk" ethos, the problem is that most people tend to shift their weight to one leg and kind of slump in place; this board just seems to create an unstable platform so that you're forced to keep moving around, so it's a solution to a problem created by a solution to another problem. Kinda expensive, though, needs some big manufacturer to knock them out at about £30 a pop rather than the hand-made/bespoke method that seems to be going on here.

Fixed that for you. Bit late posting about it when it finished two months ago! I would have backed it, if I'd heard about it when it was live.

    Orion Trail

Bit of a bump - spotted a news story about this one yesterday and it caught my attention, looks quite fun and reminds me a bit of Space Quest though it obviously has a stronger slant to Star Trek.

Play as the Ghostbusters in this exciting board game inspired by the films, cartoons, comic books, and toylines. For 1-4 players.
Tad expensive entry level, though; I posted the link to my local gaming store, as they have a retailer pledge level, stating I'd be interested if they went in on it.

Not sure if this has been posted already?

Simply, they're raising money to fact check as much of the election statements as possible.

Orion Trail due to end in a few days, well worth pledging towards. Essentially a funny, relaxed version of FTL. There's a demo available to play which I can heartily recommend as well:

I backed Orion Trail, hopefully it gets a late boost.

Halcyon 6 looks very good, hopefully it doesn't steal Orion Trail's thunder.

Former Kickstarter project Jagged Alliance: Flashback has now died with the team disbanded according to todays update. #52

    Backers only post

    "Team Disbanded / Slow Communication

Big part of the slow communication and lack of progress is, that the JAF team is no more. Everyone is gone and there is me left to handle it all. Both taking over tasks from the guys who left as well as running the rest of the company.

And people have not just been moved over to other projects as some people say. They are gone gone, not to return. Very sad, but that's just the financial reality of JAF.

I try to answer all emails sent directly to me, but I simply cannot find time in the day to read+answer posts on the forums. Sorry - but that's just how it is.

    Future Development on JAF

Without a team, there is also no further development on the game.

We would have liked nothing more than to continue on for ages, but no salaries lead to no people lead to no development.

We will work on a quick bug fix release in the upcoming weeks in between other work, and then that is the final version from our hands no matter what.

That bugfix will take care of (right now at least) 2 known issues that we want to fix

female mercs in prone after loading
a crash bug in the pathfinder
In my spare time sometime in the future I will send over as much of the requested modding stuff to Shanga. But my priority lies with physical goods first.

From the start of this project we wanted to get the modding part of the community running with as many possibilities as possible. And that is still everyone's goal to see the awesome stuff that can be done in the future by the talent out there."
