Earthling was the album I think. I quite like the song Little Wonder from it.
That rings a bell actually. I'll check out yowtube tonight and confirm. -
+1 , Bowie is amazing. -

Let's face it, for every good song there's 5 shit ones
If you just took his 70s albums in isolation then there's not even nearly true. Most of those albums don't have a bad track.
In fact I don't think that's actually true for his whole discog. -

Industrial to be specific. He was all over it. And didn't do it very well.
Didn't Bowie do an electronic/drum and bass album in the mid nineties? I remember hearing and really liking one song, but never investigated it any further. -

Registered 16 years agoBowie's run of albums in the 70's is unmatched.
Most of his lead vocals were done in one take, with no overdubs.

That Cornish ditty is excellent - how did I not see that at the time. And of course, Stella Street is an all time classic, though more for Mick&Keef than Bowie.

He is someone I would like to like more of his stuff but don't.
Think my dad wrote me out of his will when I told him that. -
Today I have mainly been listening to Low.
I heart Bowie. I'm off out in a bit, and I think Hunky Dory will accompany me. -

Good thread, Bowie is indeed God!
Fiancée fancies him. But I don't mind as I probably would. Everyone is happy. -

Registered 20 years agoI think that The Labyrinth soundtrack is one of the greatest things in the world of all things film-related.
In fact, I'd have to say that it's my favourite Bowie 'album' - with Hunky Dory a close second. -

Registered 20 years agoIt's a shame that Bowie never recorded an 'Unplugged' album. It would have been great to hear a more chilled acoustic version of some of his biggest hits. -

Registered 11 years agoI've been listening to lots of Bowie recently. This is how I'd rate the albums I own and my favourite song off of each album -
Station To Station (Station To Station)
Low (Subterraneans)
Space Oddity (Letter To Hermione)
Lodger (Fantastic Voyage)
Hunky Dory (Oh You Pretty Things)
Young Americans (Right)
Tonight (Loving the Alien)
Diamond Dogs (We Are the Dead)
The Man Who Sold The World (Black Country Rock)
"Heroes" (Neukoln)
The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust (Five Years)
Scary Monsters (Ashes to Ashes)
Let's Dance (Modern Love)
Pin Ups (Here Comes The Night)
Heathen (Sunday)
That run of albums starting with Diamond Dogs and ending with Low was definitely him at his peak in my opinion, it's probably blasphemy, but I really can't stand anything off of "Heroes". His glam rock stuff had it's moments too, but 90% of it sounds really naff and dated now.
How would everyone here rate the Bowie albums they own? -

Why? He's making music to please himself. Not you and I. More power to him I say.
