Im planning on getting a massive print (1 x 1 meter or more) but I dont wnat it to be glossy. Are there any bett options than canvas?

I dont have anything inparticular against canvas other than the risk of it looking a bit cheezy.

Has anyone here tried some large print techique?

I got some large pints, 60 x 80 I think, done with pixmania. Mine were glossy mind. Print quality was good though.

Finally got around getting some canvas prints done thanks to my wife finding a good deal on groupon. Very pleased with the result. Only niggle is that people might think they're bought in some store and not actual vacation snaps.

I have a friend that says "A good photo becomes great if you make it really large" and I fully agree.

Soon I might actually get around to getting my image files out of iPhotos proprietary DB and into something that the increasingly retarded OSX can't fuck up.

I've got some massive watchmen images from the comic that a kind poster on here emailed me that would make great posters. They're essentially just the entire page blown up. Any idea where I could get them printed? I tried one place but they don't do copyrighted images annoyingly.

Also, how do I know what size to do so it doesn't look all blurry?

It requires some maths

Should be around 300 dpi for print. So you check the size of your images and calculate.
Say you have a 600 pixels wide image. That would work for a 2inch print.

But TBH on a big canvas it's OK to go a bit over. You look at it from a distance anyways so it'll even out.

Find a university near you with a graphics/print course and slip a student a few bob to do it for you.
