I have just bought a new car (Mazda 5) and found that it has an auxillary port.

Is it possible to connect an iPod classic to it i.e. do I just need a 3.5mm jack lead and if so, does it just connect to the headphone socket on the iPod?

use the bottom connection port on the iPod classic as the headphone port is shit. Something like this is the best option

Would this cable work with an iPod Touch?

I don't think it would, but I'm not sure.

Works with iPod touch fine. I tend to use my nano in the car though as the touch is too fiddly when you're driving.

Edit: I use a Belkin Auto Kit with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from it to my AUX input. Keeps it charged and you get better sound from using the iPod connecter rather than the headphone socket.

Yes I have one, it's supposedly better than the 3.5 connector going into the Touch.

    Or what Nasty said!
