Yeah, my memory of UK governments was a few years out.

I'd say it was pedantic more than barmy :D

Anyway, there was the wartime coalition, and a couple of informal alliances with minority governments since then.

Didn't catch who it was, but chap on the radio just now saying that the sentencing has had the backing of the silent majority. Erm, if the majority is silent how exactly does he know he has their backing?

    Damn stupid.

Anyway, 4 years for a facebook page, crazy.

There's a riot on the forum at the moment. We're looting groups.

I think a lot of people don't give a shit because they think it will never happen to them. There's some dark shit coming our way off the back of this =/

Jack Straw, after an estimate one to two million people marched on the streets of various cities against the war on Iraq, also said that the war was supported by the silent majority.

Right after that thing he said about WMDs.

However, I see no reason not to instigate immediate curfew powers here in the UK, after all, if you've got nothing to hide, you have no reason to be out on the streets.

I feel like I have to point out that I'm being sarcastic in case some thick fuck thinks I'm being serious. It just isn't any fucking fun to post on Eurogamer anymore, I think I'm going to have a short break.

Speaking as someone who is generally at the pinko liberal, guardian-reading, end of the spectrum, I think he might actually be right about the "silent majority" in this case.

4 years for attempting to incite a riot on facebook when the riots in question didn't even happen does seem very harsh. On the other hand, fuck 'em.

For once I have to agree with Smuggo, as much as it pains me. Sure - they were in England, but it's still the UK. Even though _all_ of the UK didn't have them.

Hell, you may as well call them the Manchester, London and other places riots 'cos it didn't happen everywhere in England. Stop whining.

Only after a couple of days of calling them UK Riots (during which time the thread title was changed).
  • Deleted user 17 August 2011 12:37:44
Nah, UK riots is only acceptable if you are foreign. Otherwise it is most definitely the English Riots.

    Spack out? Really?

You can't really blame people for not wanting to be unfairly grouped in with scum holes in England can you. God knows if it was the other way round everyone would be pissing and moaning at involuntarily being forced to adopt the problem. No one rioted/looted anywhere outside of England. Pretty damn simple really.

Yeah, sorry. Although I completely agree with your logic it's still worth keeping the thread title the way it is for the amusing reactions from the provincials.
