Yeah, still really enjoyed that episode, the slightly slow pace doesn't bother me at all yet. (Supposedly Episode 4 is an absolute corker)
Erect Cosmic Dick was certainly something I've never seen on a TV show before.
Ian McShane is brilliant, really grabs your attention, similarly to what Anthony Hopkins did in Westworld.

@Immaterial Its Peter Stormare, he was in the movie of Fargo. Also the psychologist in Until Dawn. Prison break is another of his well known series.

He has been in shit loads of stuff basically.

Hate to knock viewers intelligence, but I'd imagine that episode will see a LOT of people turning off.

I enjoyed it although it was slow. Seems like Starz have given Fuller carte blanche on artistic control and that may prove to be damaging in the long run.

Meh, I prefer it being unique. I'd rather two seasons of sublime weirdness over several of a straight book adaptation.

I know nothing of the book, and am not lost at all. It isn't rocket science

    I might start this today.

Not sure if it's already been posted (or, indeed, if it's of any interest!) but some rumours are Gaiman's not at all happy with this and it's part of a career mini-breakdown.

Was that Ian McShane singing during the funeral scene? I'm like 90% certain it was him, just trying to confirm it.

    Unfounded it seems.

@Frogofdoom Maybe he is, maybe he isn't (edit - happy), but I certainly wouldn't dismiss talk from people who know him as 'unfounded' due to a press release. The very fact they put that out there surely tells you something?

Sorry I don't think you read my posts very carefully - I do not just go off stuff that's posted on the internet, so take it or leave it.

    Time will tell.

So, just let me get this right, you're claiming that there are rumours that Gaiman's not happy with "something" about the production of this show.

Someone provides a link to Gaiman's comments made at last year's SDCC, stating that he's extremely happy with the way everything was going at that time.

Your response is that there are other "rumours" out there, but have zero evidence to back up your claim when asked to clarify what they actually are, or who is meant to be saying them, but they're apparently credible because they're "what you've heard".

Where's the pinch of salt that you want me to take?

There was one interview I read where Gaiman wasn't happy with the graveyard scene between Shadow and Laura's grieving best friend (apparently in the original version she actually does give him a blowie, which he accepts). So they changed it to what it is now, which he's happy with.

2nd episode was great, probably better than the first. Great performance from the guy with the face who was in that thing.

I've been saying for a while there's a lack of unexplained man floating in space with a boner scenes in television these days. Nice to see someone finally has the balls to give us what we all want.

Not sure I'm really feeling this after one episode, I love me some weird and wonderful but so far it feels like a shiny david lynch wanna be.

Lovejoy and Hollyoaks dude are good though, and that title sequence is awesome!

It reminds me very much of Hannibal in terms of style which was also super fucking weird!

If space boners didn't do it for you last week, this week there are gigantic floppy cocks and a gay sex scene that felt like it lasted 6 hours.

Having not yet seen the episode, one might suspect the aforementioned floppiness had something to do with this? :)

I'm with Mola. Ep 3 was top notch.

To be fair, if that guy's wish was to leave it all behind and drive a cab in 'Murica, he should have thought up some better wishes.
