I thought his wish was to become the Ifrit.
Bit cock heavy this week I thought, should have chucked in another Bilquist scene to even it out.

Seems they are sticking to the books quite rigidly iirc, the scene at Czernobog's apartment was exactly as I remembered it. I'm enjoying it a lot but I can see how someone who hasn't read the books might not enjoy it so much, it is a bit weird.

Fuller said of most scenes if its in the book they wanted to film it as faithfully as possible. However, Gaiman has also said his favourite episode contains nothing from the book at all, so there's that :)

I'm enjoying this a lot more than the book. The ideas and story are great, perfectly suited for a visual medium, don't much care for Gaimans writing style.

The opening with Anubis was fucking magical. I can't remember if it was in the source material or not, but I don't think it was.

But book wanking aside, it's just a beautiful, weird show. I guess maybe it's too artsy for some, but as a fan of Hannibal I'm in heaven.

I don't think his eyes changed when he got into the cab in the morning.

Thought it was probably the weakest episode so far but I still enjoyed it a lot. Only saw one floppy cock though, I was led to believe there would be a plethora.

There are two, but you need to freeze frame it just right. Took me ages.

Yeah, you're right. Apparently the Muslim guy and the Ifrit have an extended part (ooer missus) in the TV adaption and are listed in multiple episodes.

Really? I liked it. I thought the pacing was much better than the previous episode.

I thought so too. You could hit a home run with that thing.

Not sure a gay sex scene will do their viewing figures much good though, lots of people still freak out at that sort of stuff.

I still liked it, just not as much as the previous episodes. I thought the final few sections of the first two episodes were great. Plus surprise space erections > huge floppy cocks.

Spartacus got 4 seasons though, and that had a whole lot of man on man action in it. I think people generally expect that sort of thing from Starz, so I don't think it will impact the viewing figures much.

I thought that too. Fucking loved that whole section, and in general the little coming to dangerous segments have been really well put together. The anansi one was also brilliant, helped along if you've read anansi boys

Ep. 3 fills in a load of gaps not covered in the book to be honest- all told from Laura Moon's perspective. Still not convinced by the Zombie vs. Droogs fight as it was pretty superfluous.

Best line: "Get out of my bathroom you zombie whore!"

I read the book so long ago that I have forgotten a lot of the details. Did she go see Audrey in the book?

The book is written from Shadow's POV, and I'm pretty sure she never mentioned it (or her arm coming unattached).

It was a weak epsiode for me as I didn't like the main character in it but agree with Immaterial about the best lone. I liked the reaction :)

Love Crispin Glover in the latest episode. Gillian Anderson is still being fantastic too.

(I only spoiled who's in the latest episode, nothing more)

Stumbled upon this late on Saturday night. Knew nothing about it. I'm not so keen on the 300 style slow motion gore, but I got to bed about 2am after watching all the episodes. Must be doing something right.

Enjoyed that, apart from the irritating background jazz ALL THE WAY THROUGH. Ep 4 was another that went pretty far away from the book- and I'm pretty sure that Mr World had nothing to do with globalisation. Not sure which side he was in in the book, but Crispin Glover is definitely making him the Big Bad.Best line (there were a few) goes to the comedy leprechaun:

"Give me my coin, Dead Wife"

Hmmm..... they seem to have vastly overestimated how much I care about mad sweeney...

Yep. Minor supporting character in the book becomes comic relief for a few episodes, then gets a whole backstory episode to make us care about him before he dies in the next episode.

I loved that episode, personally. Sure, I never ever thought that I would care about Mad Sweeney, but then I never thought I'd care about Laura Moon either. He's lost in a world that doesn't believe in him anymore - the only beliefs left are general stereotypes about leprechauns (that they're lucky and have lots of gold) and Irish people (hot-headed drunks who love to fight). It's kind of sad, but really compelling also.

I've been quite enjoying this show. I didn't think I would. Great sound design and nice overall aesthetic.

It might be saying something about this show that it took me two weeks to get round to watching the last episode.

Glad I did. Boobs, him out of Justified (no, not Oliphant), and the phrase 'Vagina Nebula'.

@Immaterial Nicky Sobotka from The Wire is in it too. I was going to say it's nice to see him working again, but his IMDb page has loads of stuff.
