| I put in about forty hours and got to the boss in the 8 bit dungeon however I haven't really got back to it since. Keep getting wiped out by him when he regenerates. Think I need to go back and level up a bit. |

Registered 17 years agoI finished the strip club dungeon this morning - The big surprise was **SPOILER ALERT** having to fight against Teddie!!
Now that's done, it's back to the daily grind of boosting my Social Links and clearing side missions, although I do want to replay the first 2 dungeons as well, as I think I've sold some of the stuff I needed to clear some missions... Levelling up my crew (especially Yosuke as I don't use him since getting Kanji) would be good too.gif)

Fucking love this game. Been through it twice this year and I might play it again soon. Gonna replay persona 3 first though but as a girl then start on this. -

Sorry just saw your reply.
Who's in your squad?
I have finally after some time defeated him, found the void boss to be a real step up in difficulty. You can get away without buffs etc with most bosses until now. Really relied on them constantly having to manage my teams health and sp.
To be honest as frustrating as I found it it's quite a good Battle.
I can finally push on. Think I need to work on my social links now. -

Registered 9 years agoRecently finally got around to playing this to complete the final dungeon.
Wasn't that thrilled with the true ending: A bit too happy of an ending for me. Was expecting at least a minor bad thing to happen after the final boss battle, that would be used as a plot device leading to a positive ending. It was a well done ending, don't get me wrong, but definitely perferred Persona 3's one better. That ending was beautifully done.
And I thought the actual final boss in this was disappointing compared to the 'initial' final boss.
Another walkthrough is in order soon so I can do all the social links and do the Marie social link to unlock the final dungeon..
But overall, I loved this game. Really excellent and I'm happy that they made this less repetitive than Persona 3. Loved the characters in this, but still perferred the story in Persona 3. Would love a remake of 3 as I can see them improving it with their experiences with 4, and presumably 5.

2017 will be the year I finish P4G

Registered 16 years agoIf true, it's about fucking time. Two of the most influential JRPGs of all time and to play them, you either need a PS2 or back-compatible PS3 for P3:FES and a fucking Vita for P4Golden.
Neither is quite as good as Persona 5, but they are still astounding games. I'd been kinda hoping to see a PS5 version of them that brought the assets (and dungeon design) up to and maybe beyond P5 levels. -

Still, it's good news! Hopefully P5 will follow. -

Registered 10 years agoP4G is the only game I miss on Vita after I traded it in for a Switch a couple of years ago. It’s odd it’s taken this long but glad it’s finally getting ported. -

Registered 15 years agoNice that it (they?) appears to be geeting a PC port, less nice that it uses Denuvo as that immediately discounts a GOG releasr, leaving it purely in the Steam realm. Hope the ports are decent too, and I think Sega's recent PC ports have been well received so...
Anf as people have said, being on PC makes console ports easier (PS4 and Xbox at least, depending on any exclusivity shenanigans with Sony). I have still not properly played P3 (or FES/P3P) but enjoyed P4G. -

Registered 16 years agoI'd be just as pumped for P3:FES as for P4:G, but sadly the info looks flakier on P3.
For my money, P3 remains an excellent horror game. It doesn't go the jump-scare route that most horror games do, but it really does the "growing sense of lurking cosmic dread" thing amazingly well. The last couple of months of game time and the ending are pretty powerful stuff and there's not much else out there like them.
I think P3 was the last time the series went hard on just how freaky some elements of its setting are. P4 and P5 just took large elements of the Shin Megami Tensei/Persona universe as read (which is fine) and P5 had its own Serious Thematic Shit going on, but P3 remains pretty special.
The only problem with P3:FES is that the new post-game arc they added is fucking terrible (though you can safely skip it and the game is still vast). -

Roguey, I must politely disagree about the post-game arc, otherwise known as The Answer. The entire main story (which the game refers to as The Journey) sets up and segues directly into The Answer. If you don't play The Answer, you are missing out on some significant story development.

Registered 13 years agoI tried with the answer, but It just kept kicking my arse and I got frustrated with it and never went back. I do have it on my ps2 so I should go back to it one day. I replayed 3 on the psp last year though so not quite ready to go back into it yet. -

Registered 16 years ago@Bombonera I'd argue that if you skip it, you're missing out on a boring, overly-frustrating grind and some fanfiction-level writing that adds nothing to the otherwise near-perfect ending of the base game. -

So I'm more pumped for the alleged reveal and release of this later this evening than I am for any 2020 new game release.
Unless they also announce Persona 5 Scramble, of course.
