Famitsu revealed the release date in Japan to be June 14. The game will cost about ¥7,300, a comparatively higher price for a remake; justified by the number of additions in the game. Most notably, the expanded gameplay and voice acting combined with a new MADHouse animated opening sequence. A special "Famitsu DX Pack" costing ¥3,000 more and sold exclusively at Enterbrain (Famitsu's publisher) which will includes a set of 10 post cards and 6 A3 posters. |

Registered 18 years agoThat both sucks (release date a bit later than I thought it might be), and sucks (the price, obviously). I hope it bombs at that price, that's almost what Squeni charged for FF Type-0!
Unless there's at least ¥1500 off for the download version, I doubt I'll get it at launch. Might finally get around to playing my PS2 copy!
edit: read that the LE will include "six A3 sized posters featuring illustrations from Shigenori Soejima, Shuji Sogabe, Mad House, Studio Hibari, and Hiroyuki Maeda" and my resolve might be breaking. :-/

Registered 10 years agoThe price is outrageous I agree but the fact that the LE version is only ¥3000 more is quite cheap given the extras. I know however that import shops will exploit this and charge a good £50 extra given its limited availability. -

Registered 18 years agoYeah I've bought a couple of EbTen LEs before from different places, never the most fun. We'll see what happens when people actually start listing it.
I should probably get around to playing P3P in the meantime too, lol. -
Looking forward to this a lot. Loved Persona 3 and played the first few bits at a friends house.
Hopefully we'll get it quick, I imported Persona 3 a year before it was adapted for europe. They certainly have put a lot into it. Also any word on the beat em up arc systems is working on? -

Registered 10 years agoThat's meant to look like the new lady's bag, I think? Quite a nice touch. -
Wonder if Europe will be getting anything different though. Didn't atlus give away a T-shirt and miniature soundtrack and art book with P3 on the psp? -

Ghostlight did an artbook with both the initial PS2 Persona 3 release and the PSP re-release, and a soundtrack and art cards with Persona 2. I'm hopeful for a limited edition, but at the end of the day I'd be happy to have it released over here regardless.

Edit: Yes, there were also the t-shirts with Persona 2 and 3 if you bought the games from Ghostlight themselves.

Just watched the first episode of the P4 anime too. Think I'll stop as it's shot exactly like the games (days progress, pause screens at ads etc) and follows the story exactly. Probably too many spoilers and would defeat playing the game. Ho hum. -

Registered 10 years agoAnd once you've watched the anime, you really should check out Giantbomb's Endurance Run. I was literally crying with laughter at certain points as Jeff and Vinny discover the more imaginative story elements and visuals. -

Registered 10 years agoBut you have to play Persona 4. If any part of you has any inkling towards RPGs, dungeon crawlers, surreal storylines or high school sims, you need to give this a go. Now imagine all of those combined.

Registered 18 years agoIf they make it so I can magically transport my PS2 save data from my BC PS3, then I'm definitely in. Otherwise it's another 80 hours to get back to where I was! -

Registered 10 years agoAh... I see your point. I just assumed you'd never played it before.
It's probably for the best to wait for reviews before taking the plunge again. I'll be plunging another 100 hours into this as the fact it's portable means that I can play in small chunks throughout the day and not get burnt out. -

I wonder if SE will pick this up again for the PSV or will give it up for Ghostlight to publish it in PAL region.
