Registered 20 years agoAdded you guys.
If memory serves the buddy system is a strange one-way beastie, so you'll need to add everyone yourself to see everyone, even if they added you already. I think that's how it works anyway. -

Registered 18 years agoHad a quick look at the site earlier, and it's still got all my details / book info etc from last year. Any idea if you need to re-register, or just edit all that stuff? -

I'll actually write something worthwhile when I find out whether I still have a job or not after tomorrow. It's a little distracting

While I'm here, I thought other people might find this useful if, like me, they have the memory of a goldfish on smack:
Body outline
I print 'em out, two to a sheet of A4, slap character names next to them and use them to chart injuries as I go, so that I don't forget Fred lost an ear in chapter seven and Jane's eyes have been pecked out by crows. -

Registered 16 years agoI am in. I registered on the site as GullyFoyle. Creatively titled blog here. I'm not sure I will update the blog yet, but it's there in case I do want to.
I assume it's normally twenty-five days of procrastination followed by five days with little sleep? -

Registered 18 years agoSo, apart from the handful of us that I know about from last year, do any of you guys and girls have any previous with NaNoWriMo?
Or indeed any kind of '+10k words' writing at all? -

Registered 14 years agoI've never done NaNo before, although I've been writing for a few years so I've done the write 20-30k in a month. 50k looks like a bit of a mountain though. -

Registered 18 years agoOk, my writing buddy list is up to date.
Looks like MD is right. 'Your buddies' does not equate to 'is a buddy of', so it's two separate things. -
The NaNo site is promising to get relaunched on the 10th. Do old accounts get retained or do you need to fully register again? -

Registered 14 years agoI was just thinking, I know a fair few people who plan on using twitter to encourage, discuss and generally try and make the experience as nice as possible. I'm a part of another online writing group who will be using twitter as a sort of motivational tool.
If anyone on here has a twitter account, and wants to add me, my twitter account is:

Registered 20 years agoLast year I found the nano thread enough of a distraction to writing. Good luck with Twitter =D -
Heh, Twitter's a constant distraction for me anyway.
Bigger issue is that November's such a busy gaming month, I'm away for a week in November and I'll be celebrating my 35th birthday :-/ -

Well, I've signed up too. Despite not 'finishing' anything in ages.
If anyone feels the need for more writing buddies then feel free to add me. I am (perhaps unsuprisingly) 'Blerk'. And I have no idea what I'm going to write. Ha. -

Registered 16 years agoThe most I've written before was 6,900 words, and that was a few months ago for Machine of Death, so this will be a challenge. I will add people as buddies closer to the time. -

Thanks. All is good (for now at least
).
My writing shall begin in earnest tomorrow and I have several hours blocked out at the weekend to make a good start on it.
I've written around 10,000 words on a thesis before and I write quite a bit at work now so all I need is to sort out the ideas so I don't get...crushed by them. -
Well, for the first time in about 3 or 4 years I now have a proper writing 'area' setup. I haven't had any desk areas for ages due to space issues, and I find it ridiculously difficult to write on a laptop in a cramped area. But now I have an entire study to call my own. Whee! -

You've got the better part of a month to sort your notes out before the whistle blows. -
'Spose I should have read that bit
-
I have an obscene amount of notes this year, it's really unlike me. I wonder how much will just get thrown out of the window two days in...
@meme - you realise that statement means you have fewer excuses than most of us? =D
