Despite a nasty head cold leaving me with throbbing sinuses and a very wooly head, I managed to pluckily construct a single powerpoint slide that summarised a complex bit of root cause analysis.

I am a brave little soldier.

Got an infection in gum (Pericoronitis) after an old wisdom tooth had a rumble.
One of the symptoms of this infection is Lockjaw.
    Lockjaw ffs.
    And I'm in the office.

Had a seven inch "hook plate" taken out of my shoulder just now. Nerve blocks are amazing things- I think I might do some shadow boxing and then maybe attempt some shotput.

I'm trying to decide on a mental picture of Trafford's predicament and can't decide whether he looks like he needs to have milkshake through a straw or whether he looks like he's very keen to blow someone, anyone.

Hah, when I was a young lad my Grandma warned me about Tetanus and lockjaw. And I've always had the wide open mouth image in my head...
However, I can only manage about a 2cm gap in-between my teeth, I can just about talk but it's sore.
The antibiotics should clear the infection up in 5 days, but I've been advised the Lockjaw could be a fortnight. A fortnight of soup through a straw. : /

Alternatively this infection might have led to a change in his appearance.
(Yes I know this implies he constantly looks as though he needs to have milkshake through a straw AND he's about to blow someone, it's Wednesday night and I'm tired)

@Trafford Pfrrt, after I had broken both my jaws I had my jawbone locked into place for about 5 weeks. Milkshake was an impossible luxury.
Anything with a thickness exceeding, well, pretty much water needed to be filtered so I could absorb it. Good times!

    @JoeBlade

Was that earlier on this year when you fell?
    You recovered okay?
I can imagine that was maddening. I'm really missing my sandwiches :(

Yes and yes. Incredulous as it may seem I made a full recovery. The human body is a thing of mystery in this respect, both very fragile and very resilient.
The bone fully reconnected and - this took a bit longer admittedly - the tissue around it simply adjusted to the slightly altered situation.

    Good as new really.

Sneezed last night and felt like something popped around my ribs.

    In pain since :/

Ugh, I had a beer with lunch today and now I've got a very slight headache from stopping. Still getting on with work, even though I'm self employed and I could go sit on the sofa at any time I please.

    So brave.

I'm not really enjoying this mug of tea I've got.

But I'll drink it all anyway.
Because that's the way I am.

Did I ever tell you guys about the time I was working at a soft play centre which became a hardsports arena?

Some cunt kid shat in the ball pool. Took us three hours to wash and disinfect each ball

I worked at a McDonalds to pay my way through Uni, and they had a ball pool. Kids would shit, piss and puke in that thing on a regular basis. I would always refuse to clean it up. Figuratively fuck that literal shit.

Man-sized yawn this morning resulted in a cramped throat/adam's apple. I'll struggle through, but won't be able to keep my chin up.

I drank a bit too much last weekend and although I didn't get a hangover, I didn't feel right for a couple of days afterwards.

But I just carried on as usual anyway. Because I'm a brave little soldier

    I have Mild Flu.

Spent all yesterday in bed, slept longer than the cat did, and feel.....fucking shattered today.

    Gotta work though. :(

    Yeah - fuck those pigs!

In other news: hayfever kicked in quite hard yesterday and today, and it's my first day back at work after a week off...but I'm still here. Give me my motherfucking medal, already.

Now that I'm an old fart, I find that just about all Hayfever meds affect my mental state in that they make me even more miserable and antisocial than ever, so I'm not taking anything.

    Double brave.
