Sorry to change the subject, but I have made myself a whimsical aim, a target if you will.

... and that is for me to NOT buy a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One until they are the price I paid for their older elders, which was £249.

Could be a very long wait!

Am rather quite happy and content with my PlayStation 3 for another year or two.

    Hi Choppi,

just so you know, the original artist of the picture you claimed to paint is in the art thread, accusing you of theft.

    Have a good one!

Oh my god what have I been missing.

I think I'll wait till Fallout 4. I have bundles still to finish and even start.

    @ubergine

    It is odd.

... I love the tiles display on Windows Phone 8 yet I am very ho-hum about seeing the very same UI on a big screen.

The bigger the screen, the worse the UI seems to be therefore I don't particular mind Windows 8, especially after 8.1 which has implemented several rather jolly good changes, but it just doesn't look or feel particularly appealing on the Xbox One.

The onesy UI seems too cluttered for my liking, I assume it isn't customizable? I like the style but would rather half the tiles.

VGX awards on 7th Dec. Could be some new game announcements then.

Xbone got better games, ps4 slightly more powerful.

    You do the math.

General consensus *seems* to be PS4, but be aware that none of the launch games are all that, really. £10 (free on PS+) indie game Resogun is probably the best PS4 game of the ones I've played (Killzone, BF4, NFS).

One of those is subjective, one isn't. And the price difference also isn't. :)

The price difference is a reason to go for one rather than the other, but doesn't make one console "better" than the other.

Better games is subjective, but I think everyone would agree...

I sort of agree fwiw, and I actually have a ps4 and not an xbone. But I can't deny that the Xbone has better games.

I've got both and the One exclusive games are a lot of fun. However, if you're the sort of person who's going to be playing a lot of multi-platform games like Black Flag, Destiny, Watch Dogs and the like, PS4 without question.

There seems to be a lot more games being announced for the PS4 on a regular basis and there seem to be plenty of Indie games already announced.

It's not that they're not coming, but MS need to get more announcements. For example, games such as Pinball FX2 and Tomb Raider: Ultimate Edition have already been announced for PS4. Got no doubt that they're coming to One but how come there are no announcements.

Does Lara decides to wear a cardigan in this 'ultimate edition'?

I have both and both are excellent. PS4 is a slick and powerful games machine with an excellent pad for sure, but I prefer the exclusives on Xbox One. But as others point out that is a here and now situation- this could change in 2014.

I will say that two weeks in and I am still pleasantly surprised by the Kinect features that Xbox One- it definitely has living room appeal if you have a family (Skype on the big screen, Xbox Fitness etc).

OK cheers the input. I think I am leaning towards the PS4 as I have a Mac mini plugged into my TV and the Xbox multimedia features probably aren't going to add a lot for me. The launch games do look a tad better but I imagine things will be much-for-muchness within 6 months,

Microsoft really need to turn off the sharpening filter. What on earth were they thinking. That is horrific.

I'm assuming you're stating this as an advantage of the PS4.

    Yes, of course he is!

... I liked Kinect on the Xbox 360, but just like the Wii and the Move thing-me-bob, I no sooner lost interest in it.
