Hmm...Dreams is tempting. I have hopes that boy no. 2 might give it a whirl over his summer holiday.

    I'm kidding myself.

He has GoT, H:ZD and UC4 at least, to get through too.

    @Switch024
A good price. I loved it until the last couple of chapters, I felt the gameplay changed a little too much. I do know a lot from here loved it all the way through, so maybe just me. Definitely happy to have experienced and played it.

Also Days Gone is a great game, maybe 10 hours to long but still a great fun ride...Another Homerun from Sony.

I also bought in the sale, still having trouble getting into it, not that far in though. Spending most of time with GOT at mo, maybe when that is done.

@DUFFMAN5 Thanks Duffman, it does look like my sort of game. How long did it take you? I could probably do with something relatively short after I'm done with Ghost of Tsushima.

@nickthegun I was tempted with Control for that price. I recall reading that the performance rendered it close to unplayable on the non-Pro in some sections though - was that hyperbole?

I think around 15 hours for me. On HLTB it is around 12-15

I'm playing on a standard PS4, it seems to run ok ? I have not unlocked many special abilities though. Do you mean when everything is getting thrown about and full on ?

No, probably not. It ran like an asthmatic pensioner on my OG PS4 during combat and turned into a powerpoint during particularly pitched battles.

The problem seems to be that everything is destructible, so later in the game when everyone is firing explosives at each other and blowing up all the scenery, the game absolutely prolapses. At some points, it becomes literally uncontrollable and youre just firing wildly, hoping for the best.

But........ the story is good, the setting is cool and everything else is really well done.

YMMV as to which outweighs the other but I would say that is worth putting up with some *severe* framerate issues because its the kind of game Im glad still gets made. Its like watching a mediocre sci-fi and just being glad its not another Marvel film.

Yeah Days Gone is brilliant for that price. I'm on a break halfway through to get halfway through GoT but will definitely go back to it. It's superb. I also picked up Control when it was cheap recently.

I am tempted with Death Stranding and The Surge 2 though. Bought, completed and sold both upon release but I always regret it and have an itch to have aother quick go of both again. I'm buying digi as much as poss these days. Stops me selling games.

OK, thanks for that. I'm closing in on the end of Spider-Man, so I'm deciding which will be my next PS4 play as I rinse the last ounce of life outta the console before giving it to my sister.

I noticed Death Stranding is in the sale for 24, but I found most Kojima stuff to be self indulgent wankery so was looking for something with a pedigree I like. :)

Nice one. Defintely tempted, it's either Plague Tale or Vampyr that I've had for ages.

Played and enjoyed both :) I suppose it makes sense for Vampyr if you already own.

@Phattso Hmmm. Death Stranding can certainly be considered self indulgent wankery and no mistake. I loved the shit out of it. But it is self indulgent wankery.

I played it through on a standard PS4 and enjoyed it. There is some slowdown when things get hectic but it didn't affect gameplay too much imho. If you're particularly sensitive to framerate issues it might be a problem but it's a very good game even with some performance drops.

can you play multiplayer with just the left and right controllers, or do you need an additional pair?

Reposting here for reach, but also because this literally is a bargain at less than a fiver.

It's a retro platformer with online multiplayer.
