It's a very well made game, with incredible acting and performance capture. The story goes in some quite interesting directions, even though I struggled to resolve the motivations. The whole thing is built on a pretty shaky foundation which undercut a lot for me.

They stretch their legs a little (as they did with UC4) with a pseudo open worldy feel. But every encounter feels the same to me, the combat (on anything other than easy) became a chore really quickly and it just goes on and on and on and on and on.
I think I'm pretty far - maybe 75% through it - but each time I rock up it just saps my energy.
The litmus test for this would be Uncharted 4. If you felt that was a little over long, you'll probably feel that way here.
For those that like TLoU2 though: they *really* like it. I think I've just had enough of this era of Naughty Dog games. They're cutting edge (and the accessibility features are universe class) but just not for me any more. -

Registered 8 years ago@wuntyate Surely the solution here is to quickly finish a single game in the Megadrive Collection and claim that's the only game you bought it for, so you can get it off your list
You didn't hear this heinous bending of the PIGWHIP rules from me though -

When is the mp out and do you need the base game to run it, sold my copy months ago. I loved the first multiplayer. I didn't start it until months after finishing the campaign though, so was always playing catchup.

Registered 7 years ago@Phattso The thing that has put me off is knowing the combat and how laborious it all is as I was getting tired of it in 1. Then again 1 was ultimately one of the best and most affecting games I'd ever played by the time I finished it so...
Shit. I'm going to have to mull this over. -

Registered 15 years ago@DUFFMAN5 No idea about the multiplayer. If you go on Naughty Dog's twitter you can see they are getting absolutely bombarded for requests for it (amongst the criticisms of the game not containing exclusively white heterosexual characters). -

Allow me to point out the obvious: the game will be available for this price again. It might even get a more fulsome PS5 update at some point in the future and/or a full on next-gen remaster.

Unless you absolutely positively must play the game RIGHT FUCKING NOW there's no reason not to wait. It'll still be there a few months from now. Kinda the point of pigwhipping. -

Dude, this is the bargains thread on a gaming forum. We don't make rational and sensible purchasing decisions around these parts.

Registered 17 years ago@Phattso yeah fair enough, I guess you don't want to be an enabler. I am curious about "the incident" though, if one would be so kind to point me to the right thread. -

Registered 7 years ago@Graxlar_v3 Thing is it was the only other game last year I WAS going to buy at release, the others being Nioh 2, Doom Eternal and Ghost of Tsushima. Why I didn't I have not got a clue and have pretty much been wanting it ever since. -

Registered 9 years agoI also follow the Grax logic of buying on launch to avoid temptation from pesky sales.
My backlog is so big its practically a fatberg.

Registered 3 months agoI ran the gog galaxy client across various platforms and had around 980 games
So with all in, the figure is probably around 1100. No way that backlog is going. I tend to buy 3 more games for everyone i finish...or get bored of. -
This LoU2 deal seemed the perfect chance to use up some Argos vouchers and I have been meaning to get it cheap one day... I enjoyed the first game so hopefully this is decent enough.
The only games I tend to preorder are the rare few I really want to play imediately or stuff that is likely going to be low print run. (and the odd series like Yakuza and a lot of Atlus stuff)
