This article on Gamespot is getting a lot of attention around the net because it is showing all the classic signs of a company preparing to sell off a brand.
Shareholders are getting antsy at the comparative weakness of the Xbox brand. But the Xbox faithful can rest easy, because any potential sales sounds pretty unlikely.
Doom confirmed. FleBay your Onesies before the nuclear ejection signal is sent out.
Asked by a fan on Twitter if Microsoft was committed to supporting the Xbox platform for the long haul, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said, "Yes, very committed." Support for the Xbox business is strong across the company "from the top of Microsoft to the Xbox teams," Spencer said.
According to previous comments from Spencer, new Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is a "good supporter" of Microsoft Studios and the Xbox business unit itself. -

Well you say that, but with Sony's credit ranking as "junk" they've sold off their Vaio and Television divisions to raise money. Jack Tretton has unexpectedly stepped down as SCE and they're laying off staff left right and centre. This has obviously raised some concerns with shareholders, but Tretton's replacement Shawn Layden has stated Sony remain "committed" to the brand.
Yeah, that'd be as crazy as Sony selling the Vaio brand..... oh, right.
Which in your logic means they're selling PlayStation.

Funny thing is, if Microsoft did sell off xbox, it'd probably get better. A lot better.
Ditto Playstation really.
They'd need a pile of cash to see them through the console cycles though. -

Registered 8 years ago@huh_what I'm 32 and yeah love games when I get the chance to play them. I also like reading these forums but everyday without fail I see you posting about something you have no intention of buying and saying how crap it is. It's as if you have Torrets. Do you Google 'shit things about Xbox one' everyday? -
I know I do. You have work for those lols. -

I can't help giggle at the thought of *Made with real jaguars!* because the 90s.
Edit: Nvm, JAGUAR JAGUAR JAGUAR. How is sexually frustrated Atari woman not a meme?

The signs are so obvious they are looking to sell.
But that will be a good thing for Xbox, not a bad thing. -

Registered 11 years agoThe pins have been on and off for me sporadically. It's annoying, until I realise that it also means no adverts. Then I just go for the voice commands and I reach everything I need. That soft reset usually brings them back, if you really want them (long press on the on/off button on the Xbox One itself, whilst it is on until it turns off).
I guess you have done that already. Apart from that, no other tips I can impart. -
I've had no issues with the pins at all, ever. I feel special. -
My pins have been down for 3 days too. I haven't been bothered to reset the console yet to fix them.
I've also not had half as many crashes/issues with my xbox since doing a factory reset. -

The only problem I have is the occasional (once every 2 weeks ish) black screen on return to Home. -

Registered 5 years agoI've never had problems with pins, but BF4 failed to load for around 2 days, hard reset managed to get me to an update (1.4g).. now it just fails to join a server
Frankly.. I'm blaming Battlefield for all that is wrong in the world today. -
I've had hardly any problems with my console. Scared of saying that too loudly.
The other day I resumed a game of Lego Marvel, however, and it couldn't find my saves. This is that "game restore" feature that I thought was still in beta. I had to quit and restart the game, which obviously isn't that arduous, but that's the first proper "bug" that I've discovered.
