Anyone seen any half decent gamepass ultimate deals lately? I'm through doing all the £1 deals etc and need to try and get 3 months for a decent price. Best I've seen is £23 for 3m on cdkeys. In other related news, that game that just dropped called on game pass called CrossCode is pretty great. Might have to buy it on the Switch as well. |

I keep hearing it's pretty hard even by RE standards. -

Registered 13 years agoI like it, but im a bit of an RE geek. I'd say for about the 3-4 quid it's going for it's got to be worth a punt. Even if you don't like it, you've only lost the equivalent of a coffee at Starbucks. -

Registered 4 years agoI wouldn't say it was that hard. The end boss is probably the hardest part mainly because its trial and error and no skill involved.. -

Registered 17 years agoI think Code Veronica X is worth it if you like the older style of RE games, the game needed a better remaster to tidy it up but its bare bones port.
I wouldn't say its hard at all, I remember a lot of moaning about the aircraft tyrant fight, save your explosive arrows for the bowngun when it launched on ps2, they wasted that ammo thinking "its a shoota game"
One bit is worse on CVX HD is the monster on the platform in the fog as the effect look blocky and shit now due to the lack of remastering the fog effect -

Registered 17 years agoMS have removed 12 months option for xbox gold from their website, still have 1 or 3 months. No doubt its get people to go for gamepass ultimate, wouldn't be surprised if they kill off gold to make people go for ultimate or online will be free? -

Registered 13 years agojust seen on the front page that xbox one x and the digital console have been discontinued. Suppose it makes sense with the new consoles coming up. Im interested to know how well the X did in ots few years of life. Im not sure xbox really dished out numbers for it? -

Registered 15 years agoDoesnt make much sense keeping it going though if they got new consoles coming out, including a budget version, that are backwards compatibility. It wouldn't be cheap keeping four 3-4 different supply chains going particularly for OG Xbox One which is 7-8 year old hardware now and probably selling in low numbers. -

The only really hard bit, as others have mentioned was the boss (at the end of Disc 1 on Dreamcast) in the aircraft, and then, only if you blew all your ammo too early. Code Veronica is probably my favourite of the whole series.
Code Veronica X on sale... worth it?
I keep hearing it's pretty hard even by RE standards.
I own them all RE games, except those on this generation (7, RE2 and RE3 remakes). Despite this, the only 2 I've ever completed are RE2 (both Clare and Leon), and Code Veronica. Tried RE1 on the Saturn multiple times, and even REmake on GameCube,. Got pretty far, but just hit a wall and got fed up. The aiming in RE1 kills it for me.
Anyway, the point is that, even as someone who has struggled to complete many RE games, I actually did finish Code Veronica and absolutely loved it. Can't have been that hard. -

Registered 15 years agoDoes anybody know what's the reason for low/no availability of the Elite Controller 2?
One of my boys wants one for his birthday (because Fortnite), but apparently they are sold-out everywhere... which took me by surprise. -

Registered 17 years agoI've vaguely considered getting one and they seem to have been selling out in no time for a while, I won't get one though, I expect the darn thing would end up getting drift on one of the sticks like all of ours seem to, or one of the monkey's would drop it and break it.
I bought a new (standard) controller recently, the only ever thing I've paid for accident/longer guarantee on. -

I saw that Argos has them, but that's no use to me as I'm a mainlander

Well that and the fact that keeping them around would be confusing. The Sony-bots on the front page are decrying MS's choice of naming scheme, saying that the average consumer is going to get confused between the One X and the Series X... well, no they're not are they? Because the One X won't be available any more.

And I'm sure the One S will be discontinued also once the Series S is announced. -

Registered 10 years agoSeems as good a thread as any - does anyone have issue playing their old XBLA games when booting up a 360?
Got the itch to play Banjo-Kazooie HD - after remembering my sign in details and cleaning my hard drive cache I got this working. Most of the other games crash on startup though - Live tells me 'An update is required' which most of the time is less than 1MB however before it completes I get a notification saying the update has failed and it kicks me back to the home page and signs me out of XBL. I've googled the update errors but apart from the usual things (sign in and out of XBLA, try and different HD, clear the cache 3 times etc) nothing seems to work. Can't access Jet Set Radio, Guardian Heroes et al
Any help would be greatly appreciated; can't wait for this digital only future. -

I think they've been taken by surprise by the unexpected surge in demand over the last few months, due to COVID. Either that or they've got a new version coming with the share button included and the ergonomic tweaks to the overall shape.

Registered 14 years ago@Rhaegyr might be worth trying to factory reset your 360. After that, you'll have to do the license transfer again, otherwise your games will be stuck in trial mode unless you are connected to Live.
Alternatively... failing any other attempt, you could disconnect from the network and play offline. -
You currently can't buy 12 month gold subs through the MS store.
From TA:
A Microsoft spokesperson said, "At this time, Xbox has decided to remove the 12 months Xbox Live Gold SKU from the Microsoft online Store. Customers can still sign up for a one month or three month Xbox Live Gold subscription online through the Microsoft Store." Unfortunately, the company did not specify the reason why it has decided to delist the 12-month option. -

I just had a thought about this. What if they're planning to phase out the free Games with Gold in 12 months time? It wouldn't be fair to keep selling subs if that were the case.

Registered 17 years agoThe could be making people buy gamepass ultimate to get the longer play online but I bet they are removing Gold and GwG. MS have been slowly killing GwG for ages but some gamers will thank them for it.
If you have 2 similar products/service, you slowly make the old one worse and you get people saying "well, glad its dead now and is was awful" you try to explain its the company making it worse to avoid backlash when gamepass was introduced. People did worry GwG would get killed off, MS said "nah mate it will be fine" -

Registered 14 years agoWell, online multiplayer only with Ultimate would be pretty expensive if you are not interested in the games service. Unless they are going to make online free to score some points against Sony, but I can't see that happening. There would be no difference between GP and GPU otherwise.

I wonder if the vast majority of people are on ultimate and so they see no value in having regular GP.
Well, they would need some excuse to tie online multiplayer to regular Game Pass then. Unless they are going to make it free to score some points against Sony, but I can't see that happening. There would be no difference between GP and GPU otherwise. -

Registered 14 years agoI think there's a lot of people with Ultimate due to the conversion deal, but I'm not sure how many would keep it at full price. Then again, it's better than paying for both Gold and GP, so...
But if they did that, Sony could easily boast that their online is cheaper. -
