Apparently i'm number 1 in my country. Can't believe that!

Edit - Oh, only for the week. Boo...

I'm 8th on the total rankings.

DID IT! Woo! 93.9 million on Excalibur! Easily the most tense game of pinball i've ever had. Got to 55 million on my 2nd ball and from then on had your 69 million stuck in my head. I was almost shaking, it meant that much to me lol. Once I passed it though, it became another ordinary game. Gutted not to hit 100 million, but that's the next step!
    Nice. :)

Nice score on Excalibur! I think you'll be safe with it for a couple of weeks at least. The ridiculous ease of getting multiball has ruined Excalibur for me a bit. When I was scoring around 40mil I was getting 1 or 2 multiballs a game. The I suddenly realized how it worked and was then activating it 6, 8, even 10 times a game. It is definitely more fun to complete the other game modes.

Anyway, looks like I better get started...

I'm just happy there's some competition here. Whilst there's so much value to be had from the tables themselves, i've really got into this leaderboards thing. I wish my old High Scores thread had taken off better.
  • Deleted user 22 February 2012 19:13:32
Not to mention that there'll be some dlc coming at some point. More table equals more high score challenge happiness. I've just worked out how to increase the multiplier on Earth Defence so maybe I'll have a monster score coming on it one of these days :D

Get your nuts around this folks. Apparently Marvel Pinball is a stand-alone pinball game that will have it's own DLC. Zen Pinball will also have DLC, but it wont be anything related to Marvel Pinball.

    OK then.

Same as the PS3 version then. Zen and Marvel Pinball are two separate games.

Although Zen on Android has both kinds of tables like Pinball FX2 on the 360.

Beat my highscore on Excalibur, by a measly 1 mill thanks to a pathetic last ball, warming up to the challenge again tho. Managed the mission with the catapult and subsequent storming of castle that was a nice point earner

I went back to Eldorado last night and spent most of it in rage. I'd have one or two fairly good games, hitting the 20-30 million range, and between them i'd have a ton of awful games in which i'd hit about 5-8 million. I just saw the ball fall helplessly between the flippers far to often. In fact, I got a 'Ball Frenzy' that lasted about 5 seconds as I watched the other two balls fall between the flippers. It's so frustrating at times and it reminds you of how much luck you need in these games from time to time.

Still enjoying the game immensely though, and i'm much better on this table than I am on Excalibur. I've completed every challenge on this table and can do so at almost any given time. They really are the key to getting a high score. The Ball Frenzies just aren't anywhere near as common as Excalibur's multiball and they don't reward you as much.

73 mil on El Dorado :D
  • Deleted user 25 February 2012 15:17:35
On my favourite table, too! Well, that's ok. I got 164 million on Earth Defence today. 144 million of which came from the first ball! It'll buy me time to work on Eldorado again!

That is an unbelievable score on Earth Defence! This is getting serious now...scores are getting quite high and it's actually taking me about 20 minutes a game now. I can usually tell after the first ball if I have a shot of breaking a high score. Before we know it's going to take a super effort to break a high score.

On El D last night I kept the game going for so long that the battery was flashing red, so I had to charge it and the resume play. Of course as soon as I resumed play I bombed out instantly.

138 mil on Earth Defence...unbelievably I got it on my first try after reading your post. Funny how it usually happens like that. I thought it would take me at least a few days to start challenging. Still got a bit to go, though. Rescued 38 civilians and had 10x multiplier.
  • Deleted user 26 February 2012 05:35:06
I'm not quite sure how you get the multiplier up, but I was getting between 500,000 and 1 million from each ramp. I was more focused on understanding and beating the standard missions. That and getting as many medals as I could. I think I need to check over the rules again. :/

    Bought this today. Brilliant pinballing.

Any tips for an Excalibur newbie? Not sure which of the many, many things I should be going for....
  • Deleted user 26 February 2012 20:21:58
Spam the Merlin's multiball as often as you can. Should be good for 30 - 50 million points if you can do it 5 or 6 times a game. Wait until the ball is just about to drop off the upper left flipper and then hit it. You can even fire the ball up the multiball lane by holding it in the lower left flipper and the releasing. Doesn't always work as you sometimes you don't have enough speed. Oh, and use camera view 5.

Also please list your friend code so we can all add you for the friend list high scores.

Same goes for anyone else, list your code here so we can all update our lists with the latest players. The more the merrier.

I bought this a few days ago and been playing it regularly ever since. It's great fun, but I'm bloody useless. Hopefully I'll get better the more I play.

Thanks for the tip zoolophage. I've been aiming for the multiball lane with the lower left flipper. I'll also give camera view 5 a go. I'm currently using view 7.

I also use camera view 5, but if people want to suggest other camera options, i'm all up for experimentation. I've only really stuck with 5 because i'm used to it.

Right I've been playing this a bit, 60 something million on excalibur is my best but I guess I should step up to the competition!

  • Deleted user 28 February 2012 01:59:18
I'll be adding you two now. 60 million on Excalibur is pretty damn impressive. I've only hit that amount 3 times, being generally inconsistent and unable to complete any of the challenges without a lot of luck!

Edit - I don't mean that to sound patronising at all. I suspect you and Zoolophage will run off with the highscores on that table soon enough. :(

I can't see myself beating 90 odd mil on Excalibur any time soon. I feel that most of the things I do on it are luck, as I don't understand in detail how it works. Whereas on Earth Defence almost everything I do is intentional and it doesn't feel like there's any luck involved. I guess that we are still nowhere near approaching the limit of doable high scores. I see 300 mil on Excalibur as doable, same on El D and maybe 500 mil on Earth D. Cracking any sort of decent score on Shaman is a different matter.

I will add the new friend codes at home tonight.

Once you know the tables the scores will come. This is now my number 1 game on the activity log, finally dislodging Pilotwings after nearly a year.
  • Deleted user 28 February 2012 17:13:48
Anyone have problems with the Excalibur multiball getting stuck and not reverting to the normal playfield once one ball is left. I just played a game where I was stuck scoring no points. Had to let the ball drain and it then let me launch back to normal. Weird.
  • Deleted user 28 February 2012 18:13:51
Added Mitch, deez, murbal, and meep to my friend list. That lot sounds like a law firm from a Charles Dickens novel!

@Raiko101 No bother, I've barely managed any of the knights challenges, or beaten the champ,or got rid of the invaders, or done whatever happens through the gate.... and my top score is by FAR my top also so some real work to be done..
