Well done Wigan. Best cup final for a long long time. Martinez's tactics were brilliant. Mancini on the other hand looks like a guy who wants the sack. Well out of his depth. Martinez to City wouldn't surprise me! |

It's poor form that Mancini chose him over the other guy. Way to instill confidence in your team.

He did what any manager would do - put out the best team to win the game.
Didn't work out too well but... -

Have some sympathy. It's probably the worst thing that's happened to them since they stopped supporting United last season.

While it's obviously unexpected, ITV are going about like Wigan are some plucky non-league team.

Registered 12 years agoITV really are trying to hard with all this magic of the cup nonsense. At the end of the day a rich Premier league club played well and beat a richer Premier League club, it happens fairly often.
The worst part of all this is that we are going to have to put up with Dave Whelan sprouting shit for the next few days.
Still hilarious to see the looks on Mancini and Fat Platt's face when that goal went in though. -

Registered 14 years agoSo if Wigan survive (and even if they don't) what will be the view of Martinez now? Achieved more than Moyes, won a bigger cup than Laudrop, all with less.
Any views that he's still not a good young manager? -

He hasn't achieved more than Moyes, he's won 1 FA Cup more and I have no idea why anyone would be comparing him to Laudrup who has been in the job for 1 season.

Based on your reasoning, Alex McCleish is a good manager.

Don your black and white specs for a minute - Wigan winning is not a good thing given the psychological boost it'll give them.

Same goes for any of the other fans with clubs down there. -

You can only really judge managers on their league performances IMO. At the end the day the only game in the cup run that they weren't massive favourites for was Everton and then City in the final.

Danny Hylton > Carlos Tevez when it comes to scoring in the FA Cup 2012/2013 anyway
The only highlight in a shit season for Aldershot Town supporters was a decent cup run.
