Registered 14 years agoGiving out the motm award in the 88th minute with Watford pretty clearly banging on the door was a bit silly. It's not a huge deal but obviously the actual man of the match is delafeou. It's just unnecessary to have awarded it at that stage. -

Registered 18 years agoCan't imagine how good Watford fans must be feeling right now after winning like that especially.

Registered 15 years agoWhat a result - I couldn't sleep last night due to all the adrenalin I must have produced during the game. Well that and all the beer I supped on the way back home from the game \o/ -

Registered 15 years agoIt's the beauty of football though isn't it - Wolves giving a penalty at the death is heartbreaking for the fans and they type of stupid behaviour from players that I tear my hair out when it happens against the teams I follow.
To come from 2 behind and looking like we weren't creating enough chances to 'that' goal was amazing and then the VAR for the penalty had my heart in my mouth - it was right in front of where I was sat and I didn't think it was a penalty from what I saw in realtime and whilst they said in the news beforehand that they would reply the decisions on the screen they didn't so I was just stuck in limbo thinking it would be overturned. I probably aged another ten years in total yesterday.

Registered 18 years agoAh, didn't realise it was given with VAR (as brilliantly implemented as ever..). FWIW, when I saw it on the news, it looked like a pen. -

Registered 15 years agoThe penalty was given by the ref and then went to VAR and wasn't overturned - I meant that I expected it to be overturned as it didn't look a penalty to me at the time, seeing a reply though when I got home and I'm sure it was.
Two times the game paused for possible red card offences going to VAR - neither of which anyone around me in the stands had a clue as to why and involving who. It is certainly weird when that happens. -

Registered 15 years agoOne real problem that needs to be recognised with VAR, is that slow-motion often gives a false impression of an incident.
The Ashley Young head butt things is a good example (it looks innocuous in slow motion but much more aggressive at normal speed), but I've seen a few now where things look like dives in slow-mo but clearly aren't at pace (and vice versa where you can only see them being clipped in slow-mo) and various other things as well.
It again just comes back to my usual issue with VAR in that it still just a human making a decision, and all the problems that come with that. I'm all for things like goal-line tech that removes human error. Where we just introduce more inputs for a human decision, I believe we just slow the game down for a very marginal increase in accuracy, if any. -

Registered 15 years agoI thought Kyle Walker should have been off on Saturday when I saw it full speed but not when shown in slowmo.
I should be clear in that I thought he should be sent off due to the rules of the game - had he been sent of I would have said it was ridiculous and the rules need to change. -

Registered 7 years agoBit Harsh on Watford but they’ve been so naive defensively it’s almost deserved. Fine margins between causing and upset and a right pasting -

Registered 15 years agoAlso a fine margin between not wanting to see another turgid 0-0 final and not wanting to see Watford humiliated. I do feel quite bad for them now.

Registered 12 years agoNot sure the possession play is warranted at 4-0 up. At least give Watford a chance for a consolation goal, eh? -

Registered 17 years agoIf I was one of the Watford players I'd consider scoring in my own net so that's it's your goal that sets the record.

Registered 12 years agoShame for Watford, but City are genuinely devastating at times.
Always edifying to see Sterling succeeding, getting it right up those nauseatingly racist tabloid fucks.

A 6-0 win in a cup final and less than 20 posts on here. Amazing football team. Tiny club.
