| Trailer looks great. This could be why Uncharted 3 was a little lacklustre. |

More of a biological plague than zombies. Same horse different jockey, I guess.

Registered 11 years agoI guess this is trying to be "the game Dead Island should've been". The idea being that zombies is srs bsns, and people caught in post apocolyptic situations have emotions and crap. Placing the emphasis on survival rather than killstreaks, and letting you play rather than watch the most interesting parts could lead to a real classic.

...oh... Not lookin' good.
The lead designer of Enslaved is working on this btw, seems that is an inspiration for them. I hope they get rid of the sticky jumps as well, always hated that about UC.

Registered 17 years agoThe only problem with Enslaved was the invisible walls. I don't mind a linear game but the fact that it wouldn't even let you die unless it was a place that said you could was a mistake. -

It was far too restrictive. Game had other things going for it though. As long as they don't make it feel like platforming is on automatic with no fear other than not doing something on time then it's an improvement.

If it was by any other developer i wouldnt be intreasted, but its Naughty Dog can they do no wrong ?
Agree with points on enslaved. Been playing Enslaved on my 360 and Uncharted on the PS3 this weekend, its reallly intrasting how they are simlier and different. But the most annoying thing is the whole 'cant jump as might be to risky' thing in Enslaved really annoys me.

Whats annoying about Enslaved and UC is the platforming, it's imposible to fail the jumps. Rather make it decent or remove it altogether.

Registered 17 years agoYou can fail the jumps in UC but they have a generous auto-lock. Personally, I don't have a problem with that - it's not a platformer and pixel perfect jump/grabs aren't required, especially when a lot of the climbing/jumping sections have timed maneuvers. It'd just be frustrating to die all the time. -

Musclebound? From the trailer it looks like the girl is the protagonist and the one doing the saving. It would be interesting to be playing her in this rather than the guy.
A muscle-bound, white American dude shoots his way through a horde of zombies while protecting his hapless white American female sidekick.
You've got to applaud Naughty Dog's originality and risk taking. -
Trailer looks good, and I trust there will be more to it than (the fucking dull) standard zombie theme. Hope it isn't open world though, fuck that. -
Slightly older Nathan Drake and slightly younger Ellen Page in pre-rendered shenanigans!
Looks utterly meh, but i'll be interested to see actual gameplay footage. -

Hapless doesn't equate with a switch-blade in the hand and a rifle on her back, though. How about letting them show a little more than 2 minutes of the game before judging Naughty Dog's originality and risk taking? I don't believe Naughty Dog has shown any sensibility for using hapless females in its past games. The 'monsters' look more interesting than zombies to me, plus the other angle in the trailer shown in the conflict with other survivors, presumably for resources, is also interesting.

With well-written characters and interactions, Naughty Dog manage to make simple premises enthralling. I still remember the 'Tomb Raider with a man' comments when Uncharted was unveiled. -

I doubt one will be playing her, but maybe she's the narrator in the game as well? Bit like in Bastion.

Registered 18 years agoI forgot about Jak X, but since the PSone days they've made 11 games (Crash 1 -> Uncharted 3), and one out of 11 is a damn impressive record. They also made a couple of good games before the PSone era, with games like Keef the Thief.
I have more faith in Naughty Dog than any other developer in the industry, and there's no reason for anyone to not feel likewise. I don't see why I should start doubting them now, despite being quite sick of zombies this generation. -
Zombies are still cool. These won't be proper zombies though. They'll be mindless runners.
