@freddymercurystwin That's correct but be pre prepared for requests of v-bucks to buy legendary dances! |

Registered 5 years agoI'm quite impressed with the new update. A fair chunk of the map has been redesigned and the planes and turrets are really starting to change the formula up. The team mode is great fun, too.
Not so stressful when you're not solo!

Registered 15 years agoI'm completely stuck on Epic Games Launcher problem and hope the EG hivemind can help. Been struggling for a few days, coincidentally since season 8 launched, with what I can best describe as a windowing / minimising problem.
I can launch it but comes up as a small window and only a portion on the top left corner is visible of which the current banners are viewable and clickable (but not complete)
If maximise or minimise it just borks it.
Tried a fair few things with my medium skills, latest was complete uninstall and install to new location. Wondering if resolution problem. Maybe image at link will describe a bit better.
linky

Registered 18 years agoIs there a published set of levels where you get vbucks for levelling up? Son having a meltdown as it's only given him 100 so far on his way to level 41. -

Registered 9 years ago@Dougs Does he have the battlepass? If you don't have it you only ever get 100 or maybe 200. With the battlepass it should be about 400 by level 40
EDIT- decent table here
https://uk.ign.com/wikis/fortnite/Fortnite_Chapter_2_Season_2_Battle_Pass_-_Price,_Skins,_and_Rewards
Without the battle pass you only ever get the stuff labelled "(free)" so 100 vbux at L5 and then not again until L99

Registered 9 years agoI'm quite into the new map. Leading up to it people were saying all the water would cut down on times when you're in the middle of nowhere with a long slog before you see anyone else- and it certainly does do that, by adding plenty of ziplines as well as vehicles and water. But it also still allows for players who want to land somewhere a bit more remote and grab a few guns before getting into the action.
Also love the hunting rifle (which I understand is a returning item but this is only my second ever chapter), and I'm trying out the mythical weapons when I can get hold of them.
Haven't managed a solo victory yet but I've had a few top 5 places so I'm sure it's coming... and anyway, I can always squad up with my kids and basically be carried to a victory since they're both much better than me now! -

Registered 10 years agoI still play this with my sons. If I'm on solo, I'm pretty much top 10 every time but have never managed the solo win.
It's a decent game though, plays well and is good in short bursts.
Happy to team @hedben2013 any time. I'm on ps4 on Willbert07

Registered 15 years agoI play Squads with my girlfriend and son regularly. Impressed with the cross platform play as I'm on PC, she's on PS4 and he's on Switch and it works seamlessly.
As much as we love it we're all hopeless at building. It takes me 30 seconds to build what some players knock up in a split second. We just know when we come up against natural 'builders' that it's game over.
I sometimes watch SypherPK and his skills are superhuman. -

Registered 8 years agoI watched my 10yo play this earlier. I expected to watch him run around, get a few shots off and then get killed.
Nope. Two solo victories in a row. Throwing up structures and swapping his weapons around in nano seconds, aiming like a bloody predator.
I was scared and impressed in equal measure. -

A build war against a PC opponent is a lose everytime. I only play console and can build/edit when required but I'm still light years behind most, especially when I play in league games.

Crash pads are very useful for destroying structures and catching builders off guard.

The pulse grenade launcher thingy looks good for that too, and for gaining height, although it's a unique item.
It's just one of those things, unless I re-bind all my keys to some hyper efficient layout, gain freakish finger dexterity and ramp up my mouse sensitivity to crazy levels I will never manage to 'git gud' at building. -

Registered 8 years ago@Dougs Mine has been pretty into it for about 18 months now. All his mates at school were playing it so he got into it with them with sqauds etc. It's basically the only game he plays unless he's doing something like Terraria or Minecraft with me and during lockdown it's been the only way he's been able to stay in contact with his friends so it's been pretty good for that. He gets a wee session a day and it's obviously causing him to become freakishly good.
To the extent where I used to play him at SW Battlefront 1 & 2, and there's no way I'd do that now. I reckon he'd destroy me. -

Registered 18 years agoYeah that looks awesome. I haven't picked one up yet but saw a video of someone go screaming away on it. It's great for travel. -
I picked up the grenade launcher once but didn't really get to try it out. I do quite like the new grappler thingy with a custom glider though, that's also good for getting around.
Echoing the comments above I'm also rubbish at building and pretty much screwed if I come up against someone who's good at it. Quite handy with hunting rifles and snipers though.
Also, I don't know if they updated the movement mechanics in water for the new map, but I'm finding it's really effective to be in water against an enemy on land? Like, you can easily pop above and below the waterline while aiming down sights, and you can still see who you're aiming at. Got quite a few eliminations that way.
