@freddymercurystwin that looks really good as well. Really stylish too (same as the houses).

I know that would be one acceptable use of my lego that my partner would approve of, though after what you've been through to restore it I'm not sure I want to put my lego through it! :)

Might keep an eye on the pick-a-brick in the lego store on the run up to Christmas, and pick up some tubs of white bricks if I see them.

Thanks for the inspiration (and how to fix it after as well ;))

Under £200 and I'll bite on that. It'd look great next to the Porsche

@ZuluHero Thanks, bear in mind it only went yellow as it was in the window for maybe 8 months or thereabouts, a couple of weeks would have little if any effect,

    https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/land-rover-defender-42110?CMP=SOC-LandRoverDefenderReveal

That is really good value in terms of cost per piece, pity I don't like the colour. 2600 pieces for £160.

@dsmx That's pretty cool. I was just watching the launch of the real thing yesterday. I think both the real thing and model look great. I would have preferred it in the traditional darker Land Rover green though.

Meh, don't like that much, I would have preferred an older model Land Rover. Can't see me adding that one to the shelf. Maybe it will grow on me ....

Or how about this BEAST https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/liebherr-r-9800-excavator-42100

Although I would like to ask the designer why he put all those pipes on it and then didn't use pneumatics.

Not too keen on that either but it does make the Land rover look better value.

Hmm, how often would you do that though? It's a moot point for me anyway, I'd never have anywhere to display it, I have a fully built Unimog in the wardrobe that never sees the light of day, only 'friendly' attractive models (eg Camper Van, Mini etc) can be displayed in our house.

Now if they did a Panzer Tank ....

I always remember the original Technic sports car. It always seemed to be in the pages of the little Lego catalogues you got. They must have run that model for quite a few years.

I've still got that one :)

The gear box is a bit iffy, but otherwise it's great.

@Flying_Pig I was spending all my money on space Lego at the time, but it has to go down as one of the iconic Lego sets. I think every kid that grew up in the late 80s remembers this set.

Yeah, I've got it too! Never really got into technic, but I do have a couple of sets from over the years.

I've even got a couple of the technic 'mini figs'.

I loved the technic mini-figs they were ace.
I got the 8620 Snow Scooter for my ninth birthday. It was a great wee vehicle but wouldn't have been half as fun without the guy and his skis (that fitted in the back)
I have a lovely memory of building this with my dad. I wish they would bring the technic minifigs back

I had the 8660 Arctic Rescue Unit (with 2 figures), but I've no idea where it's gone to... :(

If anyone was thinking of going to the London Brick Festival this Sunday, I've got an early bird ticket going

    https://londonbrickfestival.com/index.php/en/

The early bird ticket gets you entry an hour earlier (10am) plus a Lego gift. You can also take any child under 5 for free.

Looking for £10 which is slightly cheaper than I paid. I was really looking forward to it, and hopefully picking something Marvel/DC rare up for me or a fun set for my boy, but I've not been great and can't go. 😟

Payment PayPal, Amazon voucher or I would also take a Lego set in payment if preferred. I can email over ticket, and you just need to show that on the day.

Bugger - that would be amazing. I ended up looking up secondhand technic figures thinking I might just have to get a few. They should bring them back for sure.

I see the Technic rough terrain crane is down to £150 at the moment. Might need to be picking that up and hoarding it for a few years until the boy is a bit older.

It seems there is always a sale on lego somewhere so I try not to buy full price - got Darth Vader and Stormtrooper brickheadz in WH Smith for half price this week too. FIrst Christmas presents!

    Shit - that tempting!

Edit: And bought. I've no idea how I'm gonna sneak that into the house! :D

I know. I can see me holding off and then making my mind up to get it and itíll be sold out and Iíll be disappointed.

Anyone else here long-term-stores Lego sets for their kids years in advance?
