@Flying_Pig Damn you! :) I could not resist at that price, I'm furloughed atm so it has to be delivered to my home as I'm also unable to pick it up anywhere locally, it's gonna be mighty challenging to intercept this from the courier and smuggle it into the loft without the wife seeing and/or the kids snitching on me!

Shit, I don't normally do technic, but I caved too /o\

I blame it on playing Mad Max tonight!

This could be a slippery slope...

I got the Boost set for my eldest at the start of lockdown, we got way more usage out of it than the typical lego wtf-do-we-do-now-it’s-build sets

I really don't get why they didn't like this.

Few things ever, has impressed me as much as LEGO Boost. Such an amazingly well thought out package.

Boost is ace, I bought it with some JL vouchers at start of lockdown, kids were getting it to dip breadsicks in hummus and bring it their mouths, didn't quite have the strength for the dippage but they had a right laugh then they went back to Fortnite and now he's an ornament.

8 year has his eye on Slave One for his birthday in a couple of weeks, I can't really see it available anywhere so looking at alternatives, maybe the Poe X-Wing but it doesn't look all that great, anyone get any recommendations for Star wars lego in the £70-£100 region?

I've seen some pretty decent MOCs using brick separators:

So... Displaying these sets once built, how are you guys doing it?

I'm tempted to get something to stop the dust getting in, and also fancy incorporating some LED lighting.

Too much bother? Take up too much room?

I hear you. We got some micro LED strips with the Chinese sets we bought. Looks really cool. Been thinking about getting a Fabrikör from IKEA for the fancier sets. The dust is real, and vacuuming them is not an option.

Yeah - we've got both variations if Fabrikor and they're decent (if not a touch pricey). I think I prefer the taller one, but that's just me.

Get him 2 of the helmets? I had the previous Poe XWing and didn't think it was worth 80-90 quid. The Razor Crest seems a good choice but wont be available yet.

Kylo Ren's Shuttle? The Y-wing as also decent.

When's that set with the Mandalorean and Baby Yoda coming out?

    September too long to wait?

Just buy Ikea Kallax units and then the glass doors you can add on to them. Cost about £9 each door (and you get a glass shelf for the price).

Flexible storage option with doors for sets you want to keep away from dust.

Doesn't cost a fortune that way either. A 2x4 Kallax with 4 doors (so every other hole has a door on it) will set you back about £75 for example.

So I managed to intercept said package and hid it in the car boot for the moment wife none the wiser, kids were their usual nosey buggers sniffing around, it's not safe until it's in that loft!

I only build maybe two or three decent builds a year, we don't have the space and I don't have the cash for any more. And if if Mrs Mercury sees it in the loft in a few months she'll just roll her eyes whereas a frivolous Lego purchase atm may not go down so well.

She probably can't open the attic door because there are so many Lego purchases up there... ;)
