Actually that's really interesting. I like their reasoning and the conclusion.

Had anyone bought the Mario stuff? I think the Mario figure it's brilliant but I'm reluctant to buy into the whole thing.

Will end up collecting dust in no time. Sorely tempted though.

I forgot i preordered it so even though my wife is out of work and i'm not meant to be making any purchases, it arrived a few days ago, with the mushroom expansion.

Saving it for when i have a bit of time to play it with the eldest.

I've given Lego ££££'s of my money and the two Lego modulars that I needed are currently £600 and £400 respectively on the second hand market. So I can't say I've lost any sleep paying £50 each for the Lepin verions.

@freddymercurystwin well needed to complete the set but if a need is classified as either food, shelter or clothing then itís want. Yes itís a WANT! But oh how I WANTED those sets! My life was complete.

Until I saw the new Pirate Lego set

I got scammed a year ago by the dumbest trick in the book. "Pay 10 sek postage, to get a 200 sek voucher" Didn't realise it was a scan until the next day, and had to cancel my credit card.

Everything was so smooth so from the time I got the spam SMS until I had payed it was no more than a minute and a half.

Anyway, I try my damnedest to be careful nowadays.

Thatís the thing - it is so obviously a scam! But my eyes were bigger than my stomach as the saying goes.
It says it has shipped - we will see!

Mine said it had shipped as well. I did think I'd get something Chinese knock off, but it's been 4 months now so I think it's become an idiot tax.

Four boxes down, two to go on the Lamborghini Sian. Got to be one of the most complex builds I've ever done. Looks astonishing, weighs a ton, the packaging (although I know that that's not what you buy it for) is outstanding.

At full price it's worth it. If you can wait for the inevitable price drop, it'll be the bargain of the year.

The big Lambo is finished! Absolutely brilliant build. Some of it was just mindboggling. Huw Millington, in his Brickset review, said the front light assembly was in the top 10 most challenging Technic builds of all time, and I'm not going to disagree. It was just angles upon angles upon angles. Goodness knows what sort of mind can dream that up.

The finished article looks the cat's pyjamas. Functionality includes gearshifts via paddle shifters, working scissor doors and a rear spoiler that raises and lowers.

No sign of the "50 Shades of Lime" that some people have reported. The 'pin with pinhole' or whatever it's called definitely has a lemony tinge, but other than that, consistency rules.

It's a massive chunk of cash to drop on a set, but if you do splurge, you won't regret it.

I feel like an old man with the amount of times I complain about Lego prices, but this set has to be a rip off in anyones book. £170 for this collection of £12 sets thrown together?

Lego tip #56, donít put a Slave 1 on on a window sill with the windows wide open when the wind from thunderstorms blows through the house and curtains flap around like a sail.
Had it on a nice acrylic stand so stands upright and at 10 pm could hear tears from upstairs last night as my 9 year old is looking down at the patio at 1,007 pieces of Lego strewn all over the place

I mean, not to be a bore but putting lego on display on a windowsill is a bad idea anyway; discolours bricks, makes them brittle et al.

Hope you managed to find all the pieces though, and at least the beauty of lego means you should be able to assemble it again.

@PatrickEwing how many pieces were scratched by the incident?

Also.... Yeah. Gotta go with the 'never put Lego on the windowsill no matter what' view.

Not assessed damage yet, not even sure got all pieces recovered as was on hands on knees in dark with a torch, pretty sure some pesky ants or beetles have stolen some of it.
Lego windowsill display advice noted, I guess it's all about learning.
