Trying this later - just hope the kill cam (and the 'kill Hitler' preorder bonus) isn't masking deficiencies elsewhere.... Rebellion's back catalogue is as mixed a bag as any out there.

I'd like to think the kill cam can be optional too.

I don't mind the kill cam. Sometimes it doesn't happen, for instance injuring a soldier with your first shot, then killing him with a second, the cam doesn't come up. when you do a great long range shot on moving target with none of the aim assists on, the kill cam is like a extra little reward for your shot

Points per kill are ranked on distance,if target is moving, headshot, vital organ hit. So using machine gun close range 20-100 points, mid range shot about 100m 600 to 1000 points

On hardest difficulty can only take couple of shots to kill you, so there will be more planing in your approach then this tutorial level shows up

I really feel like there weren't enough options to move around. It would be cool to be properly able to fire off a shot, move to another location, take out another guy, keep the enemy guessing.

There is a ghosted figure - presumably your last known position and you can see the enemy arrange themselves around it.

The kill cam wasn't too intrusive but still made me wince.

Overall, better than I expected though some of the superhuman AI spotting has me a little worried. Also, on replaying levels the enemy are positioned identically (a common situation but in a game of stealthy, tense play some element of the unknown would be nice). No more enemy on the higher difficulties either.

    Played it, loved it.

Now to play it obsessively until the game comes out.

It's actually pretty good on the hardest difficulty, the enemy will bound from cover to cover in order to flank you, with suppressing fire and grenades in the mix.

Kill cam is actually good for those rapid aim shots, as it allows feedback from the aimpoint you had. Hitting someone in the nads or legs really make's you wince.

Only thing missing is the true openworld feel the original had,the demo seemed a bit of a corridor shooter, but it's the closest thing to the original.

    Will still keep the pre-order.

Hopefully if this does well Rebellion, will do another FPS where the main character is blue skinned and has kit that talks :-)

Finally got round to playing the demo and I must say I'm loving it.

The kill cam could be argued at being a step to far and I'm still in two minds about it. That said for a game based mainly on sniping, showing your kills the way it does, goes a long way to make every shot feel brutal and rewarding.

My only issue was with the AI, which seemed a little inconsistent. The sniper in the first battle doesn't spot you unless you move too close where as the sniper in the following battle spots you from miles away before firing a shot.

Overall I think I might even stretch to a pre-order with this one, it's a shooter which actually feels fresh and new for once, top stuff!

Yeah I was a touch surprised with how taken I was with this. I like the idea of the score system particularly, might stretch to a pre-order too.

Have had that first sniper shooting at me before I leave the building, ok I was making quite a ruckus sniping the soldiers. As soon as I leave the doorway, he would fire a shot. Never get a headshot against him, always aiming too low and breaking both his legs with my shot

I think the snipers spot the reflection from your Scope and Binoculars, which they look for as soon as the enemy are alerted to your presence.

Really hope there's a shooting range so you can at least get sight marks for the Sniper Elite difficulty level. It feels far more rewarding and realistic with no on screen pointers.

    @DUFFMAN5

Pre-order for me as it's a fairly niche title and a remake of one my favourite games from last gen.

It's a nice break from the COD one man army stuff, more tactical, not just run and gun mayhem. Plus I'm hoping for a remake of the Rogue Trooper game which I loved from last gen, also by Rebellion.

Still keep playing the demo, the AI kind of makes sense to me now. The only strange thing now being an enemy sniper can spot and shoot at you without alerting the rest of the ground troops...

That said on the hardest difficulty level I dropping 5 guys in that first confrontation including the sniper without being spotted is just so satisfying! Even more so with the enemy subtitles on so you can understand what there saying.

Also in response to how the full game plays, I got this response via twitter:

"It’s semi open world where we encourage you to survey the environment and work out the best advantage point"

Playing the PC demo from Steam and I'm getting absolutely no x-ray camera at all for shots that most certainly would have had them on the 360 demo. I wonder if Steam is accidentally switching it off in Europe when the x-ray view is something that's not allowed in the German version?

Shame the anti-aliasing is pretty rubbish too.

Yeah Xray cam works fine for me too. Game looks surprisingly good.

How do you stealth the first group of enemies? Do you have to time your shots with something?

Thinking about doing a late pre-order for this, got friday off work too so this could be an option.

The demo was excellent, just waiting for a few opinions now. Anyone know when the reviews are landing?
