Yeah I'm looking at the co op missions on this as well. See how that plans out.

Bank holiday weekend isn't it? Long weekend of gaming then. This game was high on my list then I played the demo and it felt right straight from the start. Can't wait, hopefully get it early via lovely Shopto as usual :)

Is it still possible to synchronize your shots with the sounds of artillery / bombing in the distance, so your enemies can't hear you? Loved that option in SE1, but I didn't manage to pull it off in SE2's demo.

Is there going be competitive multiplayer? Or just co-op?

Multiplayer just for pc at the moment. Hopefully consoles will get it soon enough, SE1 multiplayer on the xbox had a good core following.

There was a video walk through on VG247 of the full version of the demo level a few days ago. The person who wrote the piece was particulally complimentary in the comments attached to the article.

Talk of the game potentially lasting more than 12 hours and confirming that careful play seems to be rewarded has my hopes up.

32 via shopto at the moment....

Yes, I read in one preview that this would be the case - it's more formalised in that an icon apparently appears on screen when you can do it. Presumably this is disabled at higher difficulty levels.

anyone know when the reviews will be up? Not that they'll put me off, pre-order was in not long after my first run through of the demo.

5/10 PS3 & 5.4/10 360 on NowGamer. I had a suspicion it was going to get middling review scores after initial enjoyment at the demo changed into nagging doubt over its 'legs'.

Nice, thanks. I hope it's available outside of scripted opportunities, though, the ambiant artillery sound was very hard to predict in the demo IMO.

Poor scores so far, obviously I've just a demo to go off but the AI which is slated in those reviews didn't appear that bad in the demo....

VG247 has some more videos up.

    http://www.vg247.com/2012/05/01/sniper-elite-v2-kaiser-friedrich-museum-kill-tally-opernplatz-and-schonberg-gameplay-videos/

Again while it obviously isn't a AAA game, it looks great fun. The way the enemy will actively continue to hunt you rather than revert to pretending you never existed, I think is a plus rather than a negative as mentioned in one of those reviews. Also in the campaign video the player booby traps the bodies of dead guards for passing patrols to come across.... come on, that's what we want!

This is one game were the reviews mean little at this point, I'm sold!

Great stuff, let us have early thoughts on the game. I cancelled my preorder and decided to Lovefilm it, sent back prototype 2 last night, so might get it soon after Friday.

Was hoping this would turn up on Friday as I have started again on Dark Souls. I wanted to smash that for a few more days before new shiny shiny game turned up :)

After the ghost recon beta that has gone from buying to Lovefilm list.

All I really expect and want out of this game is the ability to feel badass after sniping someone from massive distance with the 'aids' turned off and get a slow mo X-Ray of their brains exiting their head.
If it delivers that, I will be happy :)

One slight disappointment is that it's already been shown that Hitler has his full complement of testicles I guess Rebellion decided not to put any extra special effort in on that score. :-)

Well, as far as me and Rebellion are concerned, everyone hated Aliens Vs Predator and NeverDead but i enjoyed them both immensely, so ill definitely be picking this up Friday......

Well just got my first double kill on the tutorial, first target 30m through his eye and took his buddy out behind him :)

I just finished the demo, fun, but overly linear, has to be played at Sniper Elite difficulty and with music muted or it's too easy.

Does it get louder or more intense when enemies or a threat is about...like most games ?

Old Adolf runs a bit fast for a bloke with a gammy leg.

    /misses Hitler again..

    Edit. I mean I can't hit him, I don't actually miss him.

Music loud when enemies about, goes quiet when none are around. Point is, don't trust the music, tried to be sneaky, snipe the guards in the towers as the PA system was on. That went well, messed up the next shot, then went into long battle with rest of the guards. Killed about 10 then music goes quiet, thought to myself area clear just run through. Ran about 10 metres then music kicked in again and 2 guards killed me :). Serves me right for rushing in
    .
Takes couple of shots to kill you on hardest level, enemy does hunt you down, better at it than the demo. AI isn't prefect, then again most games AI isn't either

Just done double headshot beginning of 2nd mission did make a lovely noise
