Came across a wikipage on which PS2 games have been remastered in HD for the PS3.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classics_HD
Was wondering what games would also be awesome to remake for the PS3, personally I'd love to see a Final Fantasy X remake, what games would you guys want to see remastered?

You mean ported, not seen any "remasters" yet.
  • Deleted user 12 February 2012 11:11:00
They are already doing FFX HD.

Socom 2 would be my pick.

I'd love to see the PS2 FF games ported to the 360 as some sort of collection. Aside from that I can only really think of MGS, which has already happened to brilliant effect.

I want a FF 12 port as I never got chance to play it. They should port FF 7, 8 and 9 to the XBLA store as well.

I'm struggling to think of much else that actually warrants a remaster. I think the GTA games would take far too much work to do and probably wouldn't work too well anyway. Maybe the Persona games? But I could swear they are already doing one of those.

I'd love SSX Tricky and Tony Hawk's 3, but I can't see either happening as both companies much prefer to try and flog new versions of those games which totally miss the point of why the older ones were good (well, in the case of THPS anyway, I'll reserve judgement on SSX until the new one's out but I'm not hopeful).

Other than that, I think most of the things I'd pick have had new versions or are getting them. I wouldn't mind playing the first Jak and Daxter again, Okami might just tempt me to get a Move controller if support was added, and I never got the chance to play God Hand.

    Okami. Timesplitters 2.

Pretty much covers it... Viewtiful Joe also, I guess..

    Frequency and Amplitude.

Though I'd rather see a brand new entry in the series.

    Aha.

They changed the interface, some of the cut scenes and cut down the levels into smaller areas.

I think they actually added some missions though, didn't they? I'm sure they billed it at the time as an "enhanced" version. I know it was redone in a different engine for the PS2.

I think there are a few inconsequential side missions that were different, but the play areas were cut down, chopped up and seperated into smaller bits so you were staring at loading screens quite a lot. Still decent, though.

Ah. Sort of like how Thief 3 and DX 2 were hamstrung by being multiplat then.

Exactly. In fact, I wonder what sort of a reception Deus Ex would have had if the PS2 version was the only one. I always liked DX2 which got absolutely hounded by most people, but I got along with the PS2 version of DX just fine.

Cool. Deus ex it is then. Perfect timing too with Deus ex HR being so successful.
