This has been coming for a while morgan sold the rights a while ago like most tie ins they will fuck it up and ruin my favourite book ever.I only hope morgan kept some veto rights.

Just read this and the first sequel recently. There's no way they aren't going to fuck this up...

Am I the only one that goes "Oh, bloody hell! It's a Richard Morgan sex scene..." and skips forward (quite a disturbing number of pages!) until the characters actually start doing something meaningful again...often to find this is just a sex-scene intermission and they're soon at it again! Dear god, Morgan, does the term 'too much information' mean anything to you?

Anyway, I look forward to this inevitable car-crash of a film.

am intrigued, netflix might not fuck this up. Daredevil was damn good, Jessica Jones wasn't bad and wasn't all sugar-sweet, let's see what they do with this.

Yeah, love all Richard Morgan's books and especially Altered Carbon. Sounds like the person who bought the rights is of a similar mind. Looking forward to this.

Altered carbon is one of my favourite books. TV series might work better but change of sleeve and therefore actors is where I'm unsure how it'll work. Tak doesn't change his sleeve much, but flashbacks could confuse some people.

Ha! I've just finished reading the trilogy - he is definitely quite descriptive - has given them a lot to go on...

Yeah that looks really good. Only ever read the first book (years ago), have forgotten most of it. Remember loving it though. Need to buy the rest of them and finish them off before this!

Yep, up for that, lack of noir, which I felt was in the book might be the only downside, but ho hum.

So it sounds like they have changed his backstory a bit and it appears he is now 'the last survivor of an elite group of interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order' and has been on ice for centuries... Not sure how I feel about that but guess it shouldn't affect the rest of the story too much?
