Going to try the demo as soon as I get a gap at work, but I just checked Metacritic, and the reviews for this aren't that bad... If it weren't for the 5 really negative reviews - the game would be sitting on a 7/10 average. |

Registered 7 years agoTrue. Wish they'd release the demo over here when they release the game - I can't honestly be bothered creating a third account just to play a demo that I'm sure they'll put up at some point. -

Registered 9 years agoI'm on a South African account. When I clicked on the game in the store (on my PS3, not sure if that makes a difference), it had the trial and full game under the same heading. Sure it will be on the UK store as well? -

Registered 10 years agoRegardless of the low-end review scores I am intrigued to try this when the demo becomes available.
I didn't ever expect a spectacular game. A decent solid FPS on the Vita is all I wanted. I hope the demo can answer this for me. -

Registered 9 years agoI'm sure the demo is on the UK store if it's on the SA one, but I can't check for myself. It isn't under "Vita Demos", it's in there with the full game.
Just tried the demo (still busy actually), and my first impressions are pretty positive.
Visually it's not amazing, but certainly passable. I know the Vita is capable of much more (it's nowhere near as nice looking as Wipeout or Uncharted).
The sound is pretty horrible. The gunfire sounds like popcorn.
IMO the star of the show here is the controls. Not the touch screen stuff (although some of it is pretty cool), but the actual twin stick aspect. It works.
If the demo leaves me wanting more, I think I'll take the plunge. -

Registered 7 years agoI actually did have a look for a demo earlier and the only thing I could find was the pass. I could be blind but it's not actually supposed to be up until Friday in the UK anyway, right? -

Not really, because the 3DS has never really been marketed as offering a home console experience on a handheld. -

Registered 9 years agoI just checked the store on my Vita and the trial isn't there. So maybe it's only on the store on PS3
Either way, give the demo a try when you can. It's really not that bad. It does look a little ugly in places the further I get in the demo, but as I said - it controls really well imo. -

Yeah, just like the entire Vita list is full of home console ports and PSP remakes.

Registered 7 years agoThe demo isn't on the UK PS3 version of the Vita store either, if anybody was wondering. Tomorrow for both that and the full game I'd imagine.

Registered 12 years agoI would imagine the demo will be available shortly after release (maybe next week - there was no mention of the demo in this weeks EU PSN update).
I've been on the fence with this game for a few days now (I was pretty excited about the game to begin with) and I've decided to hold back and just get Gravity Rush instead. Unless they release the demo over here for me to try first there's no chance that I'm spending that amount of money on something that appears simply to serve as a mediocre proof of concept.
Plus, those gun sounds are just dreadful. Considering they are sounds you will hear repeatedly throughout the game you would think that it would be one of the first things the developer would want to get right.

Registered 13 years agoSeems absurd to have a 3.1 GB for a handheld, particularly as owners of the 4 GB memory card likely won't be able to try it. I understand that the idea is try then buy but given the reviews this game has been getting it is more likely to be a try then delete title!!!
If the demo ever hits the UK PS Store then I may download and try it. However, I doubt I'll be keeping it as it simply does not look that great from the footage I've seen. -

Registered 11 years agoIt didn't blow me away. Fairly bog standard FPS, controlled well enough. Didn't spot a run button so seemed sluggish. Has those annoying swipe/touch here, drag a grenade there type thing. Character models look shoddy compared to Golden Abyss.
Not sure where the 3.1GB has gone, unless it's the full game!
Rental or sub £20. -

Registered 12 years agoThe run button is mapped to the 'down' direction on the d-pad or a double tap of the rear touch pad (IIRC).
Yeah, I think the demo is so big because it's a trial and unlock type thing! -

Registered 9 years agoThe demo is really long as well. Not 3gb worth though. I assume you can unlock the full game without having to download it again.
Edit: What Rufus said

Registered 7 years agoThe game/'demo' is up on the UK store now. It calls itself a trial, so that confirms what Rufus and ZizouFC said.
Downloading now so I'll see what I think when it's done. -

Registered 7 years agoI left it downloading while I was having a shower and breakfast and it was done within an hour so it shouldn't take all that long. Agree that the trial is pretty lengthy-not even finished it yet! I'm fairly bemused by it all to be honest.

Oh wait, I have finished it. Hmm. Incidentally there's a patch up for it already actually but looks like it only affects multiplayer.
