Judging by the number of Epic Mickey DS copies in CEX I don't expect much. However, at that price, I might give it a go. |

Registered 11 years agoI couldn't find the Summer creator pack last night, anyone else have that problem?
Epic Mickey is a great price - wasn't the main problem brush controls? Which are now touch screen? I'm interested but would rather pay £15-£20 for a boxed retail copy.
Jonsaan - Vita's Epic Mickey 2 is a port of the console version rather than the DS version.

Registered 12 years agoJust the one game out this week - but it's a big one. Hotline Miami has been a hotly anticipated title since it's announcement and it's finally here. Ironically, it looks like this is the only way to get hold of the game at the moment as I can't confirm it on the web store, but can confirm it on Vita.
In other news, there's a Guacamelee costume pack out this week (I thought it was already out). There's a Season Pass for DLC in MotoGP 13. Some Ratchet & Clank QForce bits and pieces are also on the store, as is a bundle of Pinball Arcade season 1. Finally (and slightly lower key) is some more Soul Sacrifice DLC for free.
That'll do it - oh, and there's also the Playstation Memories sale which is a set of PS1 games on sale, along with Plus discounts.

Registered 11 years agoThey're doing a remake of Oddysee I think, rather than Exoddus which is on sale.
I picked up:
Crash Bandicoot (Plays GREAT with the Vita stick mapped as d-pad)
Jumping Flash
Metal Gear Solid
Spyro the Dragon
Not played any of them before except the first couple of levels of Crash.
Anyone else want to recommend some titles and convince me why they are worth buying?
I wish Bishi Bashi Special and Klonoa were in the sale - this sale has increasingly left me tempted to buy Klonoa at full price.
I would LOVE an HD remake of Klonoa 2 for Vita. That game was absolutely brilliant and one of the best platformers of the PS2/GC era for me. -

Registered 11 years agoI've spent some time with Rayman on Xperia Play - it's REALLY hard. In a 'not fully in control, FRUSTRATING!' way rather than 'I want to keep trying this until I succeed, AWESOME' way too.
I'm interested in SoTN but not sure if I would actually play through it as I suspect it's likely overrated and poorly designed like most games from the PSone era. Has anyone picked it up who didn't play it at the time? What are your thoughts?
I would buy a lot more PSone games if the Vita had save states for them. Or at least save on exit. We shouldn't have to fight with ancient save systems when we are playing on a handheld.
It's strange how the 16 bit generation left us with so many all time classics yet there are very few from PSone era.

Registered 12 years ago@aros SoTN holds up really well - it feels a little bit slow (like many older games), but it is still a great game.
it felt a little bit like a 2d dark/demons souls -
For what it's worth I remember playing SoTN on the PSP.
Was not it included in that PSP Castlevania game (?)
Anyway, its atmosphere and design are still second to none, gameplay and controls not so much. You basically go from room to room overcoming obstacles and killing enemies. I gave up on it as later bosses were beyond my skills. Still, although only 2D a very good looking game and atmospheric.
Oh, and you're right about save states, even my Xperia Play has this function. I can resume the game exactly where I left without going through the boring intro. -

Owning complete libraries of so many out of print systems is awesome :ninja: especially ones you would not play otherwise like the Neo Geo, Neo Geo Pocket, Turbografx 16 etc -

Registered 13 years agoI bought the RE trilogy yesterday on PS3 and downloaded RE2 directly onto the Vita via the download list. Plays fine, and unlike a lot of those PS1 titles (such as SotN) it's the full speed 60hz version. Yay. -

In my opinion, absolutely not. I bought it from the PSN store last year at its full price of £4, and it plays like ass (frustrating level design). Wouldn't recommend. I've never played any of the Syphon Filter games back in the day though.
