Registered 14 years ago@Zizoo I picked MLB The Show '13 up pre-owned, on a whim at a Gamestop when I was on holiday in NYC.
It compares favourably to the copy of '12 that I have for PS3. The animations aren't as slick and the framerates drop during the clips between innings, but everything else is there that I expected.
It's the only cart game I have, on the basis that it would always be there for some immediate pick up 'n' play, but in truth I'm neither enough of a baseball buff nor play the games enough to justify having '12 on the PS3 and a Vita version too.
I probably ought to have picked up The Walking Dead instead.

If you're not an MLB fan, Zizoo then definitely save your money. The core mechanics can be frustrating. It's very fuzzy as to why you make fantastic contact on some pitches and miss others.
The Japanese game I mentioned uses a different interface which is much more transparent and satisfying. -

Registered 7 years agoAw. They look rather sweet as text art.
There was a new Pro Yakyuu out recently, I think? I've no interest in baseball personally so that's the extent of my contribution to the discussion! -

Registered 12 years agoAnother week gone as we get close to that December holiday that most kids love and some parents loathe. This week sees the return of A-Men, a launch game that didn't really set the world alight at the time. The developers are back with a sequel and a PS3 version at launch too. Not sure what sort of cross-buy or cross-save features are in this game so if anyone knows, give me a shout!
Next up is CastleStorm, a tower defence game that was popular on the 360 and PC. The game is available as a cross-buy title and a trial is available. Finally, there's err Angry Birds Star Wars - and yes it's still MASSIVELY overpriced. If anything, more overpriced than the previous game.
On the PSP side, there's the "Take Over the World" minis bundle, with Galcon Labs and Normal Tanks available in one bundle. Finally, there's a MotoGP 13 DLC pack (I assume vehicles) and a free LittleBigPlanet Vita birthday cake costume (available for one week only).
Oh, and if those aren't enough for you to spend on the store, there's a sci-fi themed sale on for the next 2 weeks, with the highlight being Earth Defence Force 2017 for just over £10.
Next Week
No idea - again.

I still think Soul Sacrifice and Playstation All Stars (or whatever the actual title is!) for the annual ones.
Guacamelee seems pretty much confirmed for next month. Maybe AC: Liberation in the near future? -

Registered 13 years agoFor IGC I think Soul Sacrifice and Playstation All Stars as well. Possibly Sly instead of All Stars.
Guacamelee will be 'December's' as will, possibly, Super Stardust. -

Registered 13 years ago@santashi - not the Vita ones. I did play Lego SW on the DS though
For far so Ok. Up to the Mines of Moria. Technically nothing special and the controls feel quite 'heavy'. Still, I'm enjoying the low-stress gaming and I'm a fan of Lego and LotR
I think I'll hold off buying EDF until after they announce the next lot of IGC games next week. -

Registered 7 years ago@Flying_Pig It's nice to mix in less hectic games. I can't help but wish for an entirely Lego world in one of the Lego games at some point, just for the nostalgia.
Or I suppose I could just get the actual Lego out.
And very restrained with EDF! -
@trowel
yes.
