As the UK has now announced who will be representing this fair nation I thought it was suitable timing for this year's thread.

I'm a bit surprised I can actually type while laughing. :-D

Sure this isn't an April Fools and they've got the date wrong?

If not, ace! Is he big in Latvia?

    What time is it now?
    2.15
    And Eurovision is when?
    May.

Weird choice, but they won't vote for us to win anyway so why not?!

Pleeeeeeease releeeeeease meee, leeeht meee goooooooo...

    I still think Englebert Humperdink isn't the worst choice though. Not when you see the true horror in that news bite;

"It will be written by Grammy award-winning producer Martin Terefe and Ivor Novello winner Sacha Skarbek, who co-wrote James Blunt hit You're Beautiful."

    We're so doomed.

Wheeling out the big guns now.

We haven't given a damn for donkey's years, when you're one of the world's superpowers when it comes to music this competition is just for the laughs really.

Best chance of a UK win for years! A stunning strategic move IMO.

Better than some half-baked boy band or wannabe Pop Idol.

He'll get the silver vote across Europe without a doubt.

Yeah, I reckon he's got a much better chance than the previous UK reps. The old dog can still hold a tune at 75.

    Awesomeness!
Let's just hope the song's a 70's style classic choon, rather than some bland nonsense.

I hope the fervour over Jedward has died down as how they came where they did last year (in Louis Walsh's face) I just don't know.

They are the definition of talentless twats if ever there was one.
