Proper doom. From the best Sabbath album after 1975.

So doomey that (as I read somewhere) id Software wanted to have it as the title track for Doom. A track from Doom 2 is inspired by it.

    Joe Satriani.

He's a great guitarist. But really, who listens to that crap?

edit: next: Johnny Cash. Fucking beautiful.

Missed this when it was released and picked it up a few days ago. A great summer album. :)

    Stone Temple Pilots: Core

To my shame I have never owned this album*, until today (Fathers day pressie)
I have heard various songs, but as a whole WOW :)

don't judge me too harsh, I was into Sound Garden from day 1...and still am ;)

I also have 13 lined up, Brad Wilk on most tracks as well, keeping the Cornell theme going.

    Hired Hand soundtrack, gorgeous.

Bruce Langhorne’s film score to Peter Fonda’s 1971 cult classic “The Hired Hand” ... a uniquely wide and lonesome soundscape. The closest comparison might be Sandy Bull or possibly John Fahey, but nothing of its kind or even of it's time poses a resemblance to Langhorne's minimal masterpiece

Tom Waits - Small Change. For some reason I'm in a Waits mood today, just listened to Nighthawks at the Diner and I'll be on to Foreign Affairs.

Are you considering a trip to the proms this year to see it? I don't know the ring cycle well enough really to fully appreciate it but I can imagine it's an awesome experience.

Queensryche with Todd La Torre - Queensryche

Only a couple of tracks in, but so far it sounds worlds apart from the abortion that Geoff Tate released a few weeks back. Liking it a lot.

Probably one of my favourite punk rock bands. Utterly brilliant.
