I like Spotify because without Spotify I would not have found this:

I know it sounds crazy but if stuff like spotify doesn't run well, what about old school buying music?

Love it Duff... it was my highlight when I saw them at Shepherd's Bush Empire in 2012.

Johann Johannson has died. Most famous for the music for Arrival and Theory of Everything.

Will be listening to Fordlandia a lot this week.

My father-in-law died last Saturday after a very short battle with cancer :( He was a big Zep fan (as am I), his first ever gig was seeing them at the Bath Festival 1970. We've chosen this to have playing as people enter the funeral next week, I love this so much:

Nightmares on Wax - Shape the Future

I like it. I generally like chilled electronic music. Is it still called trip-hop?

Sorry to hear about your loss - awesome song choice, though. One of those tracks that gets lost amongst their big RAWK songs.

Thinking about the Spawn movie made me revisit the soundtrack.

Of all the electronica / alt-rock collaborations, this is surely one of those that emerged in the 1990's

What the fuck is the "patience of a chopping block"?

I guess it means that it has one purpose and will always be used eventually. Or something.

"A chopping block is reliable, dependable, takes vast amounts of abuse, and never shows anger, pain, or feelings."

A bit of a stretch, but I'd let that fly.

Had a few weeks listening to The Fall, so many great tunes.
Then after visiting a jazz club last week I've been heavily listening to John Coltrane.
Africa/Brass, A Love Supreme & the Village Vanguard recordings.
    Some Eric Dolphy as well.
Used to listen to elementary jazz back in my early 20s, this is something else. A Love Supreme or India are fucking amazing on the morning commute.

Empire of the Sun: We are the people. Love this track, has a great 80's vibe, so also Haim with "If I could change your mind"

Constantly disappointed that none of the students at work aspire to the drunken romantic poet who'd still be up for a kickabout in the park aesthetic that we all did back in the day.

What's the point of going to uni if you're not going to carry a scruffy copy of difficult novel in the long sleeves of your dirty jumper before leaving it a pub after three mid afternoon Strongbows ?

Idlewild were the ultimate expression of this dream lifestyle

What do you all think of the Black Keys? I'm generally against white man blues, generally anti pop music, and maybe it's my age, but I'm find it really appealing.

I only know fordlandia as a song title from The Wedding Present's last album. :-)

On topic, been listening to some Daughter LPs thanks to them featuring quite heavily on Life is Strange:Before the storm's soundtrack.

Currently revisiting some more early 90's rap & hip/hop.. & never quite understood why Oscar Jackson, Jr (Paris) didn't seem to share the same amount of limelight as the other big names of the time as his first three albums are some of the most interesting of those days/genre imho..

    The Scuzz Antique Rock Show

Just went Pearl Jam, Kiss, Coal Chamber. If the next band is Pitchshifter or Queens of the Stone Age I'm gonna start thinking 16 year old me is curating this playlist.
