Itís still all about King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard for me
This band should be exactly my type of thing and nearly everyone I trust with recommendations is into them but Iíve totally missed the boat on where to start with them

Theyíve an album for most tastes, their range is crazy, this is a good primer:

Thereís been a couple of albums since then- Fishing for Fishies which is pop-y and Infest the Ratís Nest which is a thrash album. Personal fave is still Flying Microtonal Banana, love the alternative tunings.

I woke up with this inexplicably looping around in my head, I guess Dave and I are going to be spending the day together.

A Bowie album I had no idea existed, called VH1 Storytellers. Classic Bowie, peppered with great anecdotes and stories. It's brilliant

Been listening to a fair bit of the Lift you fists album from Godspeed You black emperor recently. Forgotten how good it was

Also come across a band called HUM who I've never heard of before. 90's band that sound across between Cave in, Smashing Pumpkins etc. and loads of great 90's bands. I don't know how they passed me by but they did. They were on the Deftones festival bill a couple of months back and you can defiantly hear them in Deftones.

I'm liking the new Pearl Jam song... for me they went very stale after Riot Act in 2002 (which I love), I'm very happy that they are trying some new sounds, and not the same old same old they've been doing for the past 3 albums.

Saw them in Birmingham a couple of years ago. For a man in his 70s, Toots has still got it.

They are touring this year, too. Would def recommend popping along. The Specials were on the bill, too, which got all the centrists dads moving.

Yeah I saw them in Brighton a few years ago. They were in London maybe one or two years ago and I missed it, might get a ticket for this one. Doing great for an old man. I saw BB King just before he died and again he was incredible for someone who had to do his whole performance sitting down. He still had the audience in the palm of his hand.
