Soulwax and their first two albums.

Very different between the two, the second being much closer to two many dj's output.

Not really. I was at a jungle night he was playing at a few (20) years ago and found myself next to him at the urinals and, tbh, it was hard not to see it. Hes like five feet tall and a good chunk of that is his unit.

I never knew you were an ex junglist. I rarely listen to it all these days but back in the day I was fully into it, went to at least a couple of all nighters a month.

Yeah, not to toot my own horn, but I was a semi-pro DJ before I had a sliding doors decision to take it seriously and try and make a living from it or get a boring job.

My mates went on to form a successful record label and DJ'd all over the world and this cunt ended up in a series of dead end IT jobs.

Just picked up the second and third album by Isobelle Campbell and Mark Lanegan. Need to listen to them quite quick as I found Street Sounds Electro 4-9 on CD and really fancy some blasts from the past. Especially Electro 6 for side A with Real Roxanne, Roxanne Shante, UTFO and the like.

Bala(fecking)mory on loop. My boy loves the PC Plum (that is one ugly fecker) song "which colour house" song and Spencer (the painter and decorator guy) Singing about his musical ladder, fuck that Specer, Archie's house isn't going to paint itself Pink (or yellow, I forget). Spencer's daughter (real life) is Raylin Joy. I'm unfamiliar with her work.

Mostly podcasts during the day for me just now.

I have got quite into rummaging through the Adam Buxton podcasts of late for gentle shit to listen to while attempting to WFH. Also a bit of the recent Louis Theroux ones.

Usually, the only podcasts I tended to listen to are related to European football, which I've stopped listening to, since there's not much happening there just now.

Golazzo did a few new episodes at the start of lockdown, but they seem to have stopped now, which is a shame. :-(

I just discovered that the Tetris Effect soundtrack is on bandcamp

A whole bunch of these could be genuine big pop hits

I'm doing my best to help Spotify's algorithms by switching between The Stone Roses and brass band compilations - I reckon the Year of the Dragon Finalé is basically impossible to nail perfectly.

Great track. Great Album. ‘Black Napkins’ is up there in my bestest evah guitar solos.

If anyone likes an L7 grunge kind of thing, Chelsea Wolfe and Jessica Gowthrie just put out their new project ‘Miss Piss’. Self-surgery. I’m loving it, in a miserable apathetic way, naturally! Check out the track ‘Knelt’.

@DUFFMAN5 Yeah, really enjoyed it. Funnily enough the day Mrs Hermit decided we were watching it I happened to be wearing my tour tshirt from a show in 2013ish.

I only really knew the singles, but my dad was a fan. I have revisited and enjoy their stuff. I also love virtually any music doc. So win win
