@simpleexplodingmaybe I need to check out the new album. I listed to a few tracks from Roots last night then ended up on Chaos AD.

    @Ror
Good lad. I agree. I loves Layne Staley but I also like the current line up. I think the albums with William DuVall get stronger all the time. For me a far better band than Pearl Jam, who's Gigaton is not great, in fairness I have only heard all the way through on a few occasions.
Soundgarden is still the King (animal) though. I don't rate Nirvana in the same league, I do like them though.

@DUFFMAN5 I saw AiC at Download in 2006, just after William DuVall joined, and they played Rooster. I closed my eyes and it was almost like Layne was there, it sounded so right. Not that I think he tried to be Layne - he definitely brings his own thing - but damn, he can turn it on when he wants to. They lucked out with him.

Saw them again last year at Wembley, and I'm pretty sure he's the coolest motherfucker in rock music.

AiC are my favourite band from the Grunge scene, but that's probably because they were heavier than the rest, and they're one of my favourite bands, period (as the Americans might say).

Now listening to Thumb World by Pictish Trail

Iím a big Grandaddy fan so a slightly more upbeat electronic Scottish soundalike is a neat discovery

Just been watching The Wire series 2, one of my favourites.
This tune at the end of episode 11, soundtracking the last hour of Frank Sobokta's life ☹️

    https://youtu.be/7Fqi9w2OafQ

    Twisty Greek melodramatic stuff

Watching lots of Glastonbury this weekend. Mostly on YouTube since the BBC coverage is predominantly the focussed on the blandest headliners of the last five years.

Probably got my name on a list after watching Babymetal though.

I'm still undecided on the "new" AiC! Seen them twice with DuVall, the first time I couldn't stop thinking of Lenny Kravtiz, and that's stuck with me ever since :D I think I need to give them another try. Absolutely adore Layne, maybe I also need to get over that at some point.

Miley Cyrus at Glastonbury 2019. This set absolutely rips, hitting her own stuff with a huge Janis Joplin howl, covering Metallica, Zeppelin, Dolly, Winehouse and Nine Inch Nails, that big Guns n Roses November Rain stadium sized ending to Wrecking Ball.

Only minus is theyíve edited Old Town Road out of the radio version. Although you can watch it on YouTube if you really want.

She is a great vocalist, no doubt.
Speaking of Glastonbury, I watched the Cure (BBC iplayer) Set, I still love the band,

The Metallica concert at Wembley I was at this time last year! Epic and pretty cool that every ticket came with a download of the show you were at.

I watched the Bowie one from 2000 and got to China Girl and fuck me, he puts on a comically bad Chinese accent at one point. Devastated.

    Lounge Kittens "Do It Live!"

Absolutely brilliant. All the fun of a Lounge Kittens album with added energy and playfulness. It's a shame that these tracks were recorded at their farewell concerts.

Last one, opener from PL's latest, which I honestly think is among the best album openers they've ever written.
