Two Minutes To Late Night are doing a second available for one day only sale of some of their cover collaborations today

    https://twominutestolatenight.bandcamp.com/

This one has Primus/Coheed/Tool/Mastodon/Mutoid Man doing Rush and Emma Ruth Rundle/Yob/Mastodon/Old Man Gloom doing Kate Bush which are both wild line ups. The other covers have fewer biggish names on them but Soundgarden, Patti Smith and Steely Dan all get supercharged.

    Bent Arcana

Getting excited for the full album release next week. Instrumental supergroup project from Thee Oh Sees and TV on the Radio members.
Cosmic jams, reminds me of Miles Davis at times.

Nyck Caution ft. Meechy Darko - Famiglia

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UO0N2vY2yRw

I love the contrast between these two. They sound so differently but both of them killed the beat.

    Pavement, Unfair

    https://youtu.be/QxNnBWaf_J4

I like this little take on LA.

I fucking love Pavement, they were the band of my late teens. I remember the build up and anticipation of Crooked Rain Crooked Rain release. And it really didn't disappoint.
Proper top 5 or maybe 3 personal favourite rock and roll album ever.

My £2 charity shop copy of Slanted and Enchanted is one of my top bargains ever.

    Anyway I'm listening to Incantation.

I've just moved it a new flat, and unpacked my old mothballed HiFi.
Listening to Pavement, crooked rain crooked rain, and Wowie Zowie, I don't know who the producer was but the production is what it is.
It's like they raised they raised the bar for lofi and it's still there.

Slanted and Enchanted, fuck yeah, memories
I'll get it one once I'm done done with Wowie Zowie.
    That might take a fortnight.

As an aside we tried using our CD player for the first time in at least three years and it literally caught fire leading to Mrs Maybe throwing it out of the dining room window out into the back yard.

    Is the medium dead?

I love my cd's, probably have over 1500 (maybe closer to 2000 with cd singles added), with a good 500 odd still in fairly heavy rotation. As a further aside to your aside! I was using my Sonly MDLP yesterday, still sounds great and a lovely bit of kit.

@DUFFMAN5 I've throw away all my CDs except the absolute best ones that I'll sometimes play in the car. No need anymore as Spotify is maybe the best thing in the universe.

Edit, listening to some classic Rihanna with a dash of Lorde.

I'm letting Amazon decide for me today. I've got Alexa playing what it thinks is a selection of tunes I'll like based whatever algorithm it is they use. It's been pretty good so far.

    So far it's decided on:

    Rebel Yell - Billy Idol
I Was Made For Loving You - Kiss
    Please Don't Touch - Motorhead/Girlschool
    Genghis Khan - Iron Maiden
    Black Moon - Creeper
    Dirty Love - Thunder
    Waterhole - Marillion
English Country Garden - The Darkness
    Steven - Alice Cooper
    Starstruck - Rainbow
Watching Over - Greta Van Fleet (loving this band - thanks Forza XS)
    7 O'Clock - The Quireboys
And The Address - Deep Purple
    Tattooed Millionare - Bruce Dickinson

It really is the best radio station ever.

    Proper Arab Strap single.
I probably prefer Malcolm Middleton solo but that's a strong first track back.

Aiden Moffat & RM Hubbert's Here Lies the Body, is magical if you haven't checked that out.

I loved that when it came out. Great live too, when that was still a 'thing'! 😃

Cheers, I'll give it a go. Hubbert's other stuff never clicked with me but I'll try anyway..

I love that album of filthy updates of folk songs that Aidan Moffat did a few years ago. Probably my favourite related record.
